Re: WENGER
A cretinous comment from a disingenuous source. Pity poor Mourinho, everything that's said is about him so he has to make sad little comments in reply - OK, he's being set up by reporter's comments and questions but for someone who is supposed to be intelligent he certainly lacks subtlelty. So do I - phuck off you Portuguese arsewipe and take your snivelling remarks with you - cnut!
There, I've said it and I'm glad.

Re: WENGER
Think Wenger was set up in the first place and got well reeled in. As for Mourinho, lets be honest, he has a point re the failiure. Not my favourite person by a long way. Pelligrino seems to have real class to be fair

Re: WENGER
Arsenal needed three or four players in the summer.. they got in Ozil.. if you end up empty handed again this season questions of Wenger will be asked again.. why did he not add a striker and probably a tough tackling midfielder to shut up shop in the big games..
Talking of Ozil.. he seems to be getting some criticism.. but a lot of players who come to the Prem start well and then find the first season tough.. Silva did as well.. he will be fine come this time next year..

Re: WENGER
Wenger has been a failure in recent years.
I don't see what all the fuss is about, Mourinho is right. Arsenal haven't won anything for years and years and years. For a team like Arsenal, with all their money, that has to be seen as failure. And Wenger seems very good at failing to win things these days. A specialist at it, some might say.

Re: WENGER
SOME might say. Others would look at his overall record and the fact that he has managed the club brilliantly through a very difficult period, when there has not been as much cash sloshing around as SOME might think.
The club is on a firm footing with some very lucrative sponsorship deals on the way. Wenger has done well, though I do find some of his tactical decisions a bit strange at times.

Re: WENGER
When you say "overall record" you're including his record prior to the last 8 years (or whatever it is) since Arsenal last won anything. That's not what me and Jose are on about. We're talking about Arsenal failing to win anything for 8 years. We reckon that for one of the top clubs in the country to go 8 years without winning anything counts as failure. That's what we think anyway.

Re: WENGER
I suppose it's good to think that we are included in the rank of "Top Clubs". I think The Arsenal are a "Top Club" of course, but then again I suppose there are lots of fans out there who consider their club in a similar way. When I first started watching football the likes of Burnley, Blackburn, Sheffield Wednesday, WBA, Tottenham (no, really) were included in the "Top Clubs" bracket along with ManU. Your Leeds, Liverpools were nowhere and The Arsenal were in a group with perhaps Chelsea and West Ham, sort of mid-table.
So I've seen lots of "Top Clubs" come and go and the only thing I can say is that being "Top" is cyclical. Leeds had their day, as did Liverpool - I remember ManU being relegated since when, of course they've come back - Chelsea have bought their moments of glory, as ManC are doing at present.
I don't consider The Arsenal as a failing club and I certainly don't consider Arsene Wenger a failure of a manager - hence I don't much care for the likes of an arrogant manager with PR issues spouting off about him in much the same way that he spouts off about anything and everybody, as the mood takes him. Of course, that's out fault for listening to him - the wise would pay Mr Mourinho no attention whatsoever, which is appropriate to the value of what he has to say.

Re: WENGER
See, you can do it - a well reasoned post with not a "cor blimey, guv" in sight.
I agree, these things do go in cycles but for general discussion purposes, only the past 5 - 10 years are relevant to this. Arsenal are indeed a top club and have been during that time frame. I don't think that anybody would argue with that.
This is why me and Jose class it as a failure for a top club like Arsenal not to have won anything for years and years. Wenger is in charge - he is responsible for this failure. He has failed to win anything for a long, long time. Not good enough, given the resources at his disposal.
