Lucas Neil
Iv just been speaking to my brother who is a blue and he's just told me that "apparently" Galatasary (sp) has made an £800,000 offer for him. Now bearing in mind we got him on a free not so long ago Id been tempted to sell.
What gets me is that somewhere along the line Galatasary (sp) must have been given a heads up about this player or why did they not sign him when he was out of contract? Me thinks Neil's agent has been at work!?!?!?!

I read Neill was linked with Galataseray back in the summer. I think as with most interested clubs (West Ham included) his salary demands were a sticking point. Maybe Galataseray are more desperate now?

Must be. Id sell to be honest. Now the injuries within the club are starting to ease a little and with young Coleman showing he is more than capable of playing at Premiership level.

I don't dislike Neill, and he certainly didn't damage the team when he played for us, but he did remind me of the last rhino in Jumanji.
Yeah, I'd sell. He's looking for big bucks for the last couple of years of his career.

I have to admit I was worried when we signed him (wages wise) as the club has always been very good with wages

Re: Lucas Neil
I think West Ham offered him an extra year but on reduced money. He wanted more money and a 2 year contract. I think he's planning to buy an Aussie club after then. Something like that, anyway.

Wonder how much of that £750K is left after his signing on fee and his wages for the past 4 months.I'd hazard a guess that the £750k barely covers his wages.

Still, it's not bad business. Do you Toffees feel he's done a decent job for you?

Very good business. Yes to be fair he's done a job. He's filled in at CB very well so he has been good cover.

Rumour has it he was on £45k a week (joint top earner) with regards to signing on I dont know about that but Everton in years gone by havent been a club who is held to ransom by players/agents.
