Villa can confirm Birmingham City and the club have agreed a fee plus additional add-ons for midfielder Craig Gardner.

The move is now subject to a medical and the 23-year-old agreeing personal terms.

A good addition to the squad, you need strength in depth for mid table these days.

Given a run in the team in CM he will do very well.. wasnt really ever given a chance at Villa and played out of position too.. Personally think he is way better then Sidwell.. the technique for his goal against Bolton a few seasons ago showed there was a lot of potential there to be worked with.. If he gets a run of games for Blues in the middle of the park will be intresting to see how he develops..

From the 'Book of Latchford'..

Verse 3:11 "And the three wise men followed the blue light and turned away from the darkside, their extra toes turned to dust and their boots did fit"

'Book of Trevorlations'..

Verse 1:17 "The three enlightened ones said "Behind me Witton" and resisted temptation..... and so they would come to pass....the long-haired dragon was slain and the ram was slaughtered"

In the name of the Gardner, the Ridgewell and the holy Phillips...

Amen
