First 6 Games
Sat Aug 15 Everton A
Sat Aug 22 Portsmouth H
Sat Aug 29 Manchester United A
Sat Sep 12 Manchester City A
Sat Sep 19 Wigan Athletic H
Sat Sep 26 Fulham A
Quite a tough start.
We win all 6 = we win the league.
We win 5 = awesome challenge / maybe win
We win 4 = great challenge/may win
We win 3 = meh
Would love to win the first 3 games in a row, really get the ball rolling. We need a great start for momentum...

I can see you winning the home games and drawing away. Except maybe Man U - dunno about them.

Re: First 6 Games
Well no, but it makes it a bit less likely that you'll be relegated....

Winning the league makes it pretty much certain you won't get relegated, Beds.

As I've said elsewhere, this is a touch of déja-vu for me.
Season 1970-71. First match, Sat 15th August Everton A - it finished 2-2 with Charlie George breaking his ankle.
In the first 6 matches we beat ManU & Huddersfield, drew with Everton, West Ham and Leeds and lost to Chelsea. With the current points system that would give us just 9 points from 6 games. As you know, of course we went on to do The Double in 1970-71 - I reckon we'll get a few more than 9 points from the first 6 games in 2009-2010, it could well, finally be our year !

JPR was on the ale rather early today, I thought they had stopped him drinking in the streets with his old cronies

In 1970-71 I didn't believe it until it happened.
This time around I'm gonna enjoy winning, from start to finish. I know, that's not how us Gooners do it but I've decided to change the pattern a bit - 'We're Gonna Do The Double !"

Seems like you made a good signing yesterday with the centre half from Ajax, though seems Toure maybe on his way to Man City.

A classic Arsenal/Wenger signing - no noise, get the job done, signing announced.
How much nicer it would be if all transfers were carried out in a respectable fashion, rather than all the blah-blah we often have to put up with before anything happens. We've had the Ronaldo saga, the Tevez saga for two seasons - and watch out, they still haven't signed for a new club yet.
OK the Arshavin thing went on longer than necessary although it was the selling club that was making a fuss - the player took it upon himself to fly to England to sign on just in time.
Just hoping Arsenal's next signing (or two) will done accomplished as discreetly as possible.
