Gareth Barry injured
Seems like he could be out for a month and questions marks about him not making the England squad. Two part question here, the first mainly to Villa fans;
1) Are you happy with the fact he may not be going to South Africa
2) Who would you take in his place
My answer would be a certain no to the first question. Much as he pist me off with the Liverpool saga, I think he was a good servant to the club and his loyalty cant really be questioned.
I would like to see Scott Parker in the squad now

Re: Scott Parker.
Lutes, I agree with you totally,completely and absolutely. He's been the shining light in a shower of shite for us this season - in form, committed, not showy or temperamental. I can't think of a better reward for him.
Soooooper super Scott....

Parker should go to the World Cup regardless of whether Barry is injured or not.

My only concern for Parker, and not a wind up, is the challenges he makes as the refs wont accept anything and he is prone to a booking isnt he

Re: Gareth Barry injured
As you know i'm a fan of Barry and IMO he's a key man to England.After many years of failure we've finally got a formation which allows our two best midfielders,Lampard and Gerrard to play together and Imo Barry is what makes that possible.the only way we wouln't miss Barry is if hargreavs was fit, which after 18 months out he isn't.if Barry isn't there i'd pick Ledley King as the midfield anchor man in games against the big teams.Parker is good, very good but his all action style means he won't stay suspension free.

QB, I dont think King would be able to play the midfield anchor role now

No suprises from Cap. Carrick will fill the role and I reckon he might take Parker now. King anchor man
