Lion...
Some reports are saying Lucho Gonzalez is on his way to Marseille.. thought he would attract bigger clubs.. Has he gone off the boil a bit.. also how do you think he would do for us in the middle of the park alongside Petrov..

He is going to Marseille for €25 million
They are taking a bit of a risk as he got badly injured against MU in the CL and probably won´t play until October at the earliest
Top player - who probably didn´t have the best of seasons this past year
Not an MON type of player though - likes to pick the ball up in front of the back four and be the central playmaker

Isn't that what Petrov was doing last season?

RoT to a degree yes but what i like about Petrov is he keeps it short and simple.. if we could have another player to compliment him who can play it around too and have the likes of Milner Young Bentley playing infront with a lone striker i think it would work brilliantly..

Sadly boys
Lucho is a product of South American football which involves the ball being passed around - often backwards to try to create space and movement - until we have someone at VP with the level of football intellect that knows how you make all that kind of thing work - we won´t sign players like him

I never knew you werent happy with the coaching staff at Villa Park, how come you never said before?
On another note, apparently Veloso's agent was claiming we are after him, is he any good?

ROT
Thats not been reported here
If so - YES
An almost identical player to Barry - lacking pace - prone to put on a bit of weight - but a cultured left foot and a great football brain

Re: Lion...
Veloso´s preferred position is as a "libero" central defender where he can bring the ball out and be a deep playmaker in the way Beckenbauer and Krol used to play
Alan Hansen used to play in a similar way for Liverpool
