U21 final
Come on the England!

Oh, and watch out for Stuart Pearce singing the National Anthem. It's a pure delight to see.

I don't honestly know how many fans are there for either team, to be honest.

Milner, so much of the ball, does so little with it.

I was expecting that, and although I didn't watch the game it sounds from match reports that he was the only one who actually did anything with the ball, surelly the wonder kid walcott should have been able to do something?
anyway I really blame that Blue nose tnuc Hart for getting himself suspended

Re: U21 final
England were the better team and lost four nil!!
As I´ve posted elsewhere I reckon the goalie took a bung - I really do

Lets be honest, how many of that team would you expect to progress to the senior squad. Richards and Walcott already played, Milner possibly did himself no harm, but keep him away from the penalty spot. Cattermole and Muwamba looked good, but are they likely to play for the senior team. I never thought that ex-noser could pass a ball to a player in the same coloured shirt. The only other one from last nights team I expect to progress is Gibbs at left back, possibly Noble if he can kick on

Re: U21 final
Not quite sure what the game plan was last night (assuming there was one).
Possession we had and early in the game we looked quite sharp - Walcott received the ball on the floor a couple of times (which almost never happened in the second half) - but already I noticed a lack in the final third. Whoever had the ball had little support and was obliged to go alone.
As we got more and more desperate the old 'long ball' (usually too long) or 'cross into the box' (for our towering striker Walcott, presumably) came into play and we looked sadly short of ideas.
Gibbs apart I don't reckon any of the defenders have a hope of progressing into the senior England squad (what happened to Richards?), midfield was quite tenacious with Noble probably the best of the bunch, Walcott we know can play but where?
Hugely disappointing final - the team itself might be good when working together but I had the feeling that individually some of the Germans (with those very German-sounding names - özil?, Castro?) looked better technically. The Old England Story then.

Re: U21 final
I just dont get Noble, certainly not from this tournement anyway, he doesn't seem to do much for me, not for the creative midfielder he is meant to be in that formation.
I was looking in the sun for the player ratings and liked this
http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/2507775/How-England-U-21s-rated.html
LEE CATTERMOLE
SHOWED a few neat touches but is unlikely to threaten the likes of Ashley Young in the senior set-up. 6
Ha ha, what moron could honestly think them two play similar positions.

ROT I haven't seen much of the U21's but at West Ham Noble is definatly not a creative midfielder, nor will he ever be.

He was playing in a midfield 3 of Muamba and Cattermole I was presuming that Noble was meant to be the one creating.
He just didn't seem to do anything for me.
I've not seen him much for West Ham so cant really comment on what he is like for them.

Re: U21 final
I always think he's best playing box-to-box.
He'll win a tackle in his own penalty area, give to a winger, then be in oppositions penalty area trying to finish the move. Doesn't really have the brain to create much....

I like the look of Noble and reckon he could mature into a top player.

Although he was off form for the second half of last season. Hopefully it was just a blip.

He's got a difficult job playing in the current West Ham side. He's got a big role for a youngster and as is normally the case with a young player who plays for a club outside the Sky 4 they don't get the periods of rest they need. We've seen it two years running with Agbonlahor.

I think (and hope) you're right. He's featured in our first team for so long I tend to forget how young he is.
He's got a cute new baby called Honey, too.
