Birmingham City agree out of court settlement with David Sullivan, the Golds and Karren Brady

Birmingham City have dropped their £7 million High Court writ against the club's former bosses.

A statement released by the club this afternoon read: "Birmingham City Football Club can confirm that a settlement agreement has been reached between themselves and the previous owners for an undisclosed figure.

"The club shall cease the civil suit it had instituted and all related actions regarding this.

"As fellow members of the Premier League both parties agree that this is a good settlement to ensure our continued friendship.

"The Club will make no further comment regarding this matter."

Last month Carson Yeung slapped the seven-figure High Court writ on David Sullivan, the Golds and Karren Brady, along with ex-finance boss Roger Bannister.

It prompted Mr Sullivan to pledge to issue libel claims against Mr Yeung and club vicechairman Peter Pannu, which he said would total around £2 million.

Mr Yeung took over Birmingham City Football Club for £81.5 million last October.
