That bottle could have come through the window and killed my driver as it was aimed directly at his temple.

Now, we saw Doug Ellis driving HIS Rolls Royce into the ground before the game - no-one threw any bottles.

The thing is, he might be a rich old man, but he's still an old man. Brave boys they were - chucking bottles at an old man, don't you think?

Well tbh I'm not sure how much of it I believe, I can imagine that the odd can of beer would have been thrown and perhaps wanker signs at him through the window, but actually trying to get inside... In all the years I've been at pubs with large groups of Villa fans and seen banter between them and people in cars, including some wanker once who then had his car pelted with cans but never seen anything like he describes so who knows. Wouldnt be the only porky he has come up with before.

It sounds like there were plenty of witnesses - maybe one of the Villa sites has more info?

We were stuck at a roundabout waiting for all the coaches to be allowed through, and a Villa fan in a car in front of us and to our right started yelling abuse & flicking the Vs at the coaches. We were laughing at the utter futility of it and I'd just said to Mr B that it's a pity he's not 7'2" & built like a brick shithouse, when the passengers in the back seat turned round and obviously realised we're West Ham fans. There was a lot of nudging and peering through windows and the car window closed and he sat looking straight ahead till the police waved us on. We tried to catch up to give him a wave, but no joy.

I remember our coach being hit by bricks when sitting outside upton park waiting to leave after you thrashed us 4-0. We all have idiots supporting our clubs.

no it was parked right besides the ground where the away fans enter I think, or round the corner somewhere. I know that now they park on that big main road but it wasn't there.

Fucking idiots, hope Villa find out who they are and ban them for life.

Yeh accept the club can't ban someone for commiting a crime away from the ground. The police would have to do that, and thats if they decide its hooliganism rather then a personal attack

I knew it was a while ago. We walk past where the away coaches park on our way back to the car, and I've never seen any problems.
You're right though - every club has its idiots.

If whoever did it was caught & convicted, the club would be within their rights to ban them by the way.

I would normally expect chairmen to keep their mouths shut and let the managers talk about the football, but hey, its up to them

VFL do you remember that season that Gold had an article in the Evening Mail about what a fantastic team they had built at Blues, and his quote of how on the opening day of the season he thought everyone can sit down in the ground and look at the team and think yes we have a really good squad this year and are now a a really established club that can move forward up the league.

Near the end of that season he did another interview saying how embarresed he was by his article at the beginning of the season and how everyone always mentioned it to him and took the piss. Dozy pillock but they never learn.

They seem to have got even worse since they took over at the Hammers
