On the subject of rumour, a number of newspapers carried a story on Saturday saying that Kieron Dyer had refused to travel to Stoke with the team after a furious bust-up with Grant, who'd named him as sub. Yesterday, Dyer issued a statement through a solicitor saying that the story was a complete fabrication. Odd.

Agreed, he needs to raise his sights a tad.

It didn't bother me. It was for what I considered to be a valid reason and it was made clear that he'd prepared the team beforehand.

My dad is a west ham fan and it didnt bother him either. I dont think it bothered most WH fans to be honest it was just the media make a song and dance about it.

At the end of the day if he was in another job (not football) they'd have to let him have the day off

Oh, the media love to blow things out of proportion. Grant said the reason he observes Yom Kippur is out of respect to his father and I wouldn't argue with that.

There you go, he may have is faults, but one thing is for sure 2nd season you will finish top 8, no problem, you may even get Agbonlahor and Young...........
