Bramble Arrested over rape claim

and the jokes have started...

So Titus Bramble has been accused of rape. Personally i feel it was only fair, considering he spends every Saturday afternoon getting raped for 90 minutes at a time.

Or girls trying to make a quick buck out of the media. Now I don't want to get into the whole women rape claims not being taken seriously thing, but it does happen a lot with footballers doesnt it. And since there is a load of wannabe wags every where they go throwing them selves at them its not like they need to rape anyone is it, there not short of money either if necesary.

If this had happened to say.. a cabbie he'd have lost his job and everything by now. People accused of rape shouldn't be named unless they're found guilty.

AVFC and Eze: yes. The woman gets anonymity, the man gets a stain on his character. This worries me - it seems all wrong.

Having said that, if he's proved to be guilty, throw the book at him.

I'd put him in prison in case the book missed.

Exactly. Jade Goody's husband (wossisname, I forget) is no angel and probably very unlikeable, but when he was accused of rape he was sent back to prison because he was in breach of his bail conditions. He was acquitted, but how many people remember that?

Rape's a disgusting crime that quite rightly carries a stigma. But that stigma should only be on convicted rapists and any girl who's been found out making false accusations should be named, shamed and punished. They make life harder for the real victims.

What shouldn't be under-estimated is how many vile rapist pigs get off because the conviction rate is so very low and many women don't want to press charges.

That's a good shout.I agree with the views regarding the fellas getting named when they are accused though.It's supposed to be innocent until proven guilty but with sex crimes it's a case of guilty until proven innocent.Any woman who makes false claims is IMO letting all women down and as such should face prosecution
