Panorama
It seems the good old BBC are putting out a programme tonight attacking FIFA.
This is not the best idea they have ever had considering our 2018 bid is still up in the air.
Will it affect our chances or did we ever really have a chance of hosting the world cup anyway?

There is corruption in FIFA but they're not ALL corrupt. There will be those that will not be left open to the charge of voting against the UK just because FIFA has come under attack. If there are enough of them it will work in our favour.
There's a lot of politics and in fighting within FIFA because of corruption this type of exposure will be welcomed by more than you think.

But is it something new they are coming up with or are the BBC just raking over old history?
If its old history it is not doing our cause any good.

Jack Warner is a corrupt bully. Just because he says something doesn't mean it's true. He's probably worried about what the programme will say about him.

FIFA is totally corrupt - that we know from recent history (as outlined in the book I read a couple of years back - can't remember the author but he went through the whole sherbang, the company they used to syphon off funds etc - Warner was already mentioned as having been involved in bribessome years before) and the people now looking at the way they do business has questioned several suspect practices, saying that there is little or no "transparency" in the way stuff gets done. Sepp Blatter is, no doubt up to his neck in bungs, which explains why he so desperately clings to his position.
This, added to the fact that the running of football i.e. the management of the game we love has long been in the hands of dubious people, at every level means we've got to expect that one day there'll be a "Pandora's Box" situation which could destroy the organization of the game, as we know it.

The thing that's astonished me here is the sense of timing, how stupid can you possibly be, there is something very annal about the UK that says its OK to shoot ourselves in the foot however and whenever possible, we have a chance of getting this but we will need to edge our bets and earn brownie points from every possible direction, so what do we do, the BBC puts out a programme alleging massive corruption targeting some of the main players involved at FIFA, don't the BBC like Britain, i know about the arguments about free press, but surely from time to time a twat like Cameron needs to step up at times like these and say to the BEEB, look hear put that Panorama prog out before the vote takes place and there will be ramifications. Afterwards, do what you like, but before, then beware.
Tell you what, Murdoch and Sky would never have done this in a million years, he knows how much a world cup in the UK means to him, his pockets and the country as a whole. Hey Ho this is what happens when you have a whole corporation on state benefits.

If someone's got summat on FIFA I'm happy they put it out there whenever.
FIFA is corruption personified - they've got rich through wheeling and dealing vast sums of TV and other sponsorship money world-wide - they even insist on tax-free earnings, whilst the rest of us will pay through the nose for tickets and other World Cup paraphernalia, should we be "lucky" enough to stage the competition.
Meanwhile we've got a junior royal, our PM and David Beckham out there grovelling to be accepted by Sepp Blatter and his corrupt cronies. No effin' decency there, IMO.

Yes, I'd have said naive wanker myself but I get your point. In my defence though we are talking about people who have no shame and don't react in a reasonable, human way.
