EXCLUSIVE: Irons set to name Allardyce as new boss after talks with co-owners
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1391700/West-Ham-set-confirm-Sam-Allardyce-new-manager.html
So it looks like Big Sam then eh.
Well iant a particular big fan , but if he can do to west ham what he's good at doing and actually give him a proper chance then all well and good, but if wh lose their first 5 games i hope they dont sack him before he's even had a chance, Lets face it who ever wh are going to play , their opposition will be trying oh so much harder to stuff the Irons like the last time wh went down ...

Think he will be a good manager for you. If you get him he will get you back up at the first attempt.

All depends on who stays , and who goes.
I know there is all this thing with parker going etc etc, and most other fans of other clubs saying they wouldn't need him etc etc, but i hope Sam could talk around some of these players into staying..Iknow they would take a pay cut, but at the end of the day they did take WH down.
But it will be interesting times ahead for the wh club

I'd be happy with him or Hughton, though I still prefer Hughton.....just because I don't hate him.

Reading the papers, it says he has said he will only take control if he has total control and rightly so. Think he will be a good manager, so long as he is given a chance by the fans.

I think he could take us straight back up with our young guns, he'll get bargain oldies in for experience and I don't mind dirty football in the championship

Allardyce will not be given the chance by the fans. You know that, we all know that.As for Gold and Sullivan giving him complete control without interfering............How long will that last?

That's why I'd rather Hughton, I think he's overall the realistic candidate that the majority of fans would have. But I think we have better chance of a promotion through Fat Sam

I don't agree with that. If we hit the ground running and win a few games from the off, the feelgood factor will kick in. Football fans are fickle feckers, remember.

Even if wh dont hit the ground running as to speak, he has to be given a chance , To rebuild the team , get some much needed team spirit going.
Gold and Sullivan have to butt out, leave it to Sam otherwise the way he works , it wont work.
Iant bothered by the style wh will have to play , as long as that ball goes into the net and wh get 3 points every game.
He wont take any bullshit.,And like i say i did not really want him, but lets face it who really wants to take the reigns and work for these two anyway.
I would love it if he could sweet talk Parker into staying, because he tho he has been an absolute wonder for us , he might not be like that at any other club, wh fans adore him , and i think Sam might be able to convince parker to stay

Not exactly Academy of Football is he? Don;t think he'll fit in at the club or be liked by the fans although he is a good choice and given a chance could do well. Think the porno boys are testing/disrespecting the fans and the club with an appointment like that but that is how they work.

Newcastle started well under Allardyce and were in 11th when they sacked him.The fans never wanted him and he was onto a loser from day one.IMO he's the best manager available at the moment after MoN and given the right backing he'll be a success.

He was never given a chance at Newcastle. I think Hammers fans are a bit divided about him, but given our last couple of seasons, the feelgood factor of a few wins would make the world of difference. The difference between him and MON is that Sam can do business on a tight budget, which I'm sure will appeal to the Daves. It seems that it's a done deal now anyway, about to be discussed on the Sunday Supplement on Sky.

MoN won two league cups, was runner up in another and secured four successive top ten finishes with Leicester after getting them promoted. He also had successive promotions with Wycombe, won several trophies with Celtic and got them to a UEFA cup final all whilst spending next to feck all.The only place he ever spent any money was Villa.
