Re: Carling Cup first round fixtures
So we get the 'Soldier Boys Town' at home.
We should get through that but we should have stayed up with the quality we had in the team.
Another dawn, another season approaches.
Let's see what happens between now and August.

That was a far better team than the pile of shite that just got relegated.

To be honest i think Ringo will be happy with Allardyce, not so much Marky though

And yes, certainly looks that way. Seems like they've told Allardyce to find who he wants and they'll do their best to get them in.

hmmmm.Would expect Cardiff,Leeds and Forest to be in amongst the promotion places.Still i'd fancy West Ham getting a 10 point return from those games

Cardiff and Leeds are at home, which is a massive help cause I'd say those are the two trickiest away games in the league. We should be aiming for 13 points from those fixtures, but 10 would be a good return. Watford and Forest away aren't going to be easy. Can't say I know anything about Doncaster.

Doncaster are one of the best footballing sides in the division.Should make it an interesting game with the two contrasting styles

Substance over style. Something Villa are gonna have to get used to with McLeish at the helm. Didn't he once play a 6-4-0 formation with Scotland?

No. That was Craig Levein.

I'm sure he'd love to play that formation all the time though if he thought he could get away with it.
