Newcastle
Newcastle game the weekend, looking forward to this one, I guess mainly because I am meeting in the pub at about 12ish and having a full day on the pish.
Anyway, I fancy us to beat Newcastle, in a way I think it will help us at home not having Heskey available. I think/hope the team will set up like this -
.............................Given............................
Hutton.........Collins.....Dunne...Warnock....
Bannan........Petrov....Delph.......N'Zogbia..
....................Bent.......Gabby......................

Reckon it'll be that side but with Bannan and N'Frog changing places. If Jenas is available then i expect him to get the nod over Bannan

Agree, but i've got a feeling that this'll end up a draw.We need to win and McMinge needs a good performance to accompany the three points

If its a draw we better prepare for Villanies suicide, it will be to much doom for him to take.

Re: Newcastle
He'll probably go 4-3-3,
------------Given-----------
Hutton Collins Dunne Warnock
--Albrighton Petrov Delph--
--N'Zogbia Bent Agbonlahor--
Heskey might be out for 2 weeks, Jenas is out but will be back next week though.

Re: Newcastle
I'm in such a piss awful mood about Villa at the moment that only a win will do. Esp. against my most disliked team other than the nosers. I want to see the midfield asert themselves, get hold of the ball, pass well and control the tempo of the game.
Think it will be a bore draw.....again.
Agree with jay on formation. No I don't, Bannan instead of Albrighton.

I hope AM gives Gary Gardner a go in midfield soon.

Re: Newcastle
Prefer to loan him out to a championship club for the season, pointless bringing him into a weak midfield and then having him fail and ruin his confidence.

Re: Newcastle
I saw him come on for the under 21's, he looked decent enough but i cant see him feature much in the Prem this season with Petrov, Delph, Jenas and Bannan all ahead of him.
Maybe we will see him come on as sub against Bolton.

Didn't see any of it. Did we get smashed in midfield again?

Re: Newcastle
Nzogbia needs dropping, absolutely useless.
Problem is we started well dominated got the goal looked good and then seemed to completely drop off, sit back to deep and never created another chance on goal, we have to start going for the win constant draws will leave us in the bottom half come end of season.

That statement seems to sum up the Blues last season, which is a worry

Re: Newcastle
N'Zogia, Bent and Delph were all shit yesterday. I was amazed it wasn't Delph and N'Zogbia that were subbed.
At least McLeish tried to change it bit it was a terrible game.

Re: Newcastle
McLeish worries me, he trys to hard to avoid defeat rather than trying to win the game, another two points dropped, could have been different if bent had put that sitter away when we were 1-0 up

I thought he tried to win it bringing on Ireland for Petrov, can't really say that's playing for a draw. I think we will be ok, we have lost our two most creative players in the summer and the one we brought in is in very poor form at the moment.

Yes it does. Barton will dominate the midfield on Sunday if we aren't careful.

No, we brought Shay Given instead of Parker.
