Re: Gaz Baz
Yes, the midfielder with the most appearances for the title winners being out of contention is a good thing. Bellend suckler

Re: Gaz Baz
Him and Parker let the likes of Rooney, Young, Walcott, Gerrard etc focus on where they're most dangerous, in the final 3rd of the pitch. Let the fullbacks get forward too. You can't replace experience, so he'll be a loss. Calling Jagielka into the squad instead of a midfielder, maybe Roy will play Jones next to Parker?

Yep. You can't replace 50 odd caps worth of underwhelming pap too easily these days.
Actually I guess Carrick could do it.

Re: Gaz Baz
Carrick should be in the squad..
Most likely Parker and Lamp will hold.. with Young Gerrard Walcott ahead of them and Carroll up top..

I imagine Jones is in there as a reserve midfielder now. I don't see why Jones doesn't start ahead of Lampard. We're not gonna win the thing, and Lampard won't be about for the next World Cup so might as well let Jones get some competitive matches under his belt.

Re: Gaz Baz
Lampards performance in the Champions League final surely means he is ahead of Jones. The amount Jones gave the ball away in the friendly I would be amazed if he gets on the pitch.
Shame for Barry but Hodgeson has said we will be playing 4-4-2 so central midfielders will be Gerrard and Parker with Lampard and Milner as back up, Jones then to come in if they are injured.

Re: Gaz Baz
It never fails to surprise me the amount of people who find it necessary to slate Lampard. Under Di Matteo his form was tremendous, playing in a more withdrawn role. We may not even qualify for the World Cup so i can't see any point in experimenting for the Euros. We're in it so we should aim to win it. I don't think we will but we should at least have a go. In two years time for all we know the likes of Hart, Rooney and co could be finished. It could happen. For example,Five years ago the notion that a 27yr old Michael Owen wouldn't get 100+ caps and break Bobby Charlton's record would've been laughed at.

Re: Gaz Baz
Villainies, you do talk shite sometimes. Barry is a big loss to the squad IMHO, ended the season superbly. As for Lampard, he also played really well towards the end of the season. Shame Carrick didnt want to go, as does the simple things really well

Re: Gaz Baz
As long as Parker and Gerrard remain fit England will get by without Barry and Fat Frank, however it goes to show how much we'll miss the potential of Jack Wilshere. Perhaps someone else will step up - let's hope so cos we could do with some additional young blood good enough to stake a permanent claim. Perhaps then it'll finally be "Thankyou and goodbye" to the Old Guard (are you hearing me EBJT?)!

Re: Gaz Baz
Parker is ok, him and the G Unit will boss the midfield and we wont have to watch snail pace Barry lumbering around the pitch or Lampard getting in Gerrards way.

Re: Gaz Baz
Crouch would be an asset to any squad and after 11yrs and over 400 games if you can't see the merits of Barry then you clearly don't know much about the beautiful game. The chances of Gerrard and Parker remaining both fit and not suspended for all of England's games are remote. We could easily see a central midfield partnership of Milner and Jones in the QF. Now if you are telling me that a Barry and Lampard combo isn't as good then frankly my good man you are a berk

Re: Gaz Baz
Have to say I wouldnt mind Milner in the centre, Man City have messed his career in some ways football wise.
As for the tree hugger and lip up fatty comment, I visited my mate Busters Hotel on many occassions with my dear wife, not like you and your sordid one night hotel stays in the cheapest you could find for the latest slapper
