No Solskjaer and now No Martinez!
Assuming that we were in for RM, anymore blowouts on the cards for the chuckle brothers. I hope they really do have a plan, as day by day they are looking more like a couple of out of the depth dickheads.

I'm pleased if Martinez is out of the running.

Yea he is QB, Whelen just confirmed he is staying put again. Im not majorly disappointed but concerned over what direction Villa are heading and who they have in mind. OGS blew us out. It seems Martinez (if wanted) has chosen Wigan once again over Villa. How times have changed,we used to be quite a big club, dont you know??

Solskjaer wasn't offered the job. At the moment i'm not too concerned with the time it's taking. Lambert was my first choice last summer and if we are holding out for him i don't care if it takes another month

A respected ITK on another forum said yesterday that Ole was defo offered the position but turned it down due to "family reasons". May never know, whether true or not it just makes us look like fools in the public domain. Not a good selling tool for a club that almost got relegated.

Fact is the Villa job is an attractive one. Even without a decent investment any manager with a bit of nous will get that squad into mid table. After McMinge the fans would welcome Robert Mugabe and there's the small matter of a £2 million per year contract. No need to panic

Nah, not Mugabe. He's a self-confessed Chelski fan - you wouldn't wanna upset your fan-base by appointing Mugabe!

More likely the ITK covering his own ass because he looked like a twat.
We interview Ole day after Daglish got the sack, think he was cover incase our top target went to Liverpool.

I will be more than happy if it is Lambert. Has done great with Norwich and made some excellent signings from the lower leagues

Re: No Solskjaer and now No Martinez!
Lambert been my first choice all along, I was surprised that so many fans seemed to really want OGS, he has managed for only one season in a league that is very different to ours. Lambert has done a good job where ever he has been, and taking over a club in League one when they was just smashed 7-1 by his own team and then getting them promoted 2 years on the bounce and then keep them in the premiership is an excellent achievement, I hope we get him.
And Holt too.

He made some excellent signings as well from the lower leagues, lets hope he can continue like that. He has a good knowledge on the German leagues as well, will no doubt have contacts still there. If he comes to us, think he will be a real asset to the club

Every Villa fan I hear only has positive comments to make about Lambo. He'll get time and support to put us back on track, really hope it works out. UTV

I think he was most fans first choice, and I think he was the clubs first choice just the Liverpool job has held things up.
Fingers crossed we get him in.
