FIFA
What a buncha corrupt peasants they are. They pay an American to investigate their behaviour, the bloke does his job and asks that it be made public but no, FIFA decide to simply make a summary of the findings public and, when they are, the bloke who did the investigations says it's crap!
We all know that FIFA, Blatter, the whole lot is about money, nothing else. Money that those who run FIFA and those who support them benefit from, in the name of football. It's all total shite and for me, I'd be happy if we simply chose to not participate in their "World Cup" shenannigens, starting immediately.

Re: FIFA
I disagree. We should just pay bigger bribes next time.
Why deny the rest of us, not old enough to have seen a World Cup held in this country, the opportunity to witness the Greatest Show On Earth?
You selfish feckers.

Yes - get rid. But then trust their replacements won't opt for their pockets ahead of the good of football.

I don't like the bloke either, but I also don't like the fact that the FA won't pay bigger bribes. Do they want the World Cup or don't they???

Re: FIFA
Probably the greater problem is that we are supposed to bribe. But for what? The good of international football? Seems to me that we and those associations who think likewise would be better out of it. Let FIFA have their World Cup in the middle-east excluding all the west-European countries (I'm assuming the Russians and friends are in Blatter's pocket already) and, hopefully some of the other nations. We could get on with our domestic football and settle for a UEFA-backed European (and others?) international competition played under "normal" conditions for players and fans alike to enjoy.

Re: FIFA
No, we wouldn't be bribing them for the good of international football. Why would we do that?
We'd be bribing them for the good of the British public. The money generated for local businesses, the creation of jobs, the boost to the economy - all of these things for starters.
Also, the money England fans would save on having to travel to the other side of the globe for our usual 3-4 matches could be spent on more beer/burgers/pies here at home.
Not to mention giving most football fans here the only chance they'll ever get to be part of the fun filled football festival that is the World Cup.
That's gotta be worth a decent bung to Blatter and his boyz, hasn't it?
Any by the way, your idea will never happen. We already have the European Championships. Are you suggesting that we invite Cameroon, Peru and Australia to join in?
Africa, South America and Asia all have their own equivalent to our Euros so I can't see much interest there.

Re: FIFA
So I'd be happy with a Euro, with European teams participating who'd seen the light regarding Blatter and his ilk. Why go to Qatar, why go to Russia? It's football that's the most important, not the ridiculously exotic venue that Blatter has dreamed up to cream off his billions. Fun-filled festival in Qatar? In Russia? I don't think so.

Re: FIFA
But we already have the Euros!!! It happens every 4 years and works perfectly well. Other continents have their own tournaments which again, work perfectly well.
The World Cup brings it all together. Your idea would mean that we would never again see England, for example, play the likes of Brazil, Argentina or Iran.
I agree that Qatar isn't the best country to host it, primarily because of the climate. But hey, at least they've managed to grasp the principle of bribery. It's what makes the world go around.

Not that I remember, no
It's civil war in the boardroom at Blues at the moment and all kinds of shenanigans are coming to light. I reckon I know where the 2.5 million went but time will tell...............
