RIP Ron Springett Empty RIP Ron Springett

Certainly one of the best keepers around when I first started watching football (Jack Kelsey was another) he kept his place for England for a good many years before Gordon Banks took over in the mid-60's. Not a particularly big bloke, Springett was the master of his area and could look after himself at a time when keepers got battered about quite a lot - very agile and totally reliable. RIP Ron and thanks for the memories.
