Kieren Gibbs will start too. He's a dead cert for the England left-back position in the future.
I'm glad to see some of the youngsters getting a try-out - the future is England's only hope, the recent past and present has been pretty mediocre!

There's a good crop of youngsters coming through. We should give up on the players who have let us down time and time again in the past and get these youngsters playing together now.

Gibbs looks a very good prospect. Did you see Lansbury in goal for the under 21's tongiht in Germany, did okay. Worrying for Villa is that Albrighton seemed to have been pullled out of the squad, hope he aint injured. Gibbs and Albrighton, along with the likes of Rodwell and Wiltshere, are the future

Don't forget Theo Walcott - if the England team started to run with the young talent around I could become interested in them again!

I have no way of knowing if that is true, however I think of Theo as a specialist striker à la Thierry Henry rather than a winger.

Do you think he looks a natural scorer though JPR, think the same about Gabby by the way as not being a natural scorer

There's always been something about Theo - even before he joined The Arsenal. I remember watching him play for the under-21's a few years back - we were in Switzerland and I was with a Southampton fan (amongst others) and he'd been bigging-up Walcott. True he played on the wing, first on the right, then the left - Milner was playing too, I recall, as was Huddlestone and Nugent (and Djourou for the Swiss team). OK, Theo's speed was quickly noted but what I saw was a keen eye for a scoring chance and it came in the second half, he suddenly cut inside from the left, arriving at full speed in the middle to meet a diagonal ball in at chest high with a leap and volley into the net. Spectacular! I remember saying he reminded me of Thierry Henry.
Didn't see a lot when he first joined us but this season he's been taking goals with aplomb, some shots, sometimes passing the ball into the net. That's what I'm expecting from him as he develops in the future.

Always remember game in Germany for under 21's when he scored two top goals when England were down to 10 men, 2-0 game. Think it was Alan Smith saying he needs to be given a go up front as would be lethal.

Do you really think we are going to do a Germany and tell Gerrard Lampard Terry Barry to fcuk off..

Do you really think we will build a team round the likes of Wilshire Henderson Rodwell Albrighton Walcott Agbonlahor Caroll etc.. Give them a couple of tournaments to become a force?? NO CHANCE..

Wilshere, Albrighton, and Carroll have about 30 top level games between them. Give them a couple of years before saying they're the future...

No doubt, but the point is that just because they don't have many top flight appearences yet doesn't mean you can't see the potential quiality there.

To be honest the point that Liar missed was that the 2018 World Cup is in Europe most likely.. even in our backyard.. Germany went with youth and looks brilliant.. France did the same to a degree albeit they had a master like Zidane marshalling the midfield..

But we wont ged rid of the old brigade who have done fcuk all for us.. Im not saying that Albrighton and Henderson are the future and its set in stone.. but we have a crop and i bet there are more out there that can be given the chance to make there mark..

We have three talented midifeilders in Henderson Rodwell and esp Wilshire.. Cattermole might be a prick but he might be coached into being the tackiling midfielder too without the hot head.. then you have Gibbs at LB.. Hart in goal.. Albrighton Caroll Agbonalohor Walcott.. already you have a nucleus of a team there.. shame we dont have a world class player like Zidane to add some experience.. maybe Gerrard could do that but i think he would hinder Wilkshire progress.....

IMO Cattermole is more deserving of a call up than Wilshere and Henderson.

Laughing

Have a day off will you, oh hang on forgot who i was talking to then.Cattermole isn't good enough and his disciplinary record is appalling.I haven't enough of Henderson to have formed an opinion as yet but if it was purely based on current form then IMO we'd be seeing a midfield made up of Nolan and Barton from Newcastle and Jarvis (Wolves) and or Etherington (Stoke) and not forgetting your very own Scott Parker

Surely Milner must regret his move now. Centre mid is without doubt his best position but we have Jordon Henderson there instead with Milne doing an average job out wide.

Lee Catermole should be called up, fuckin hell, you have out done yourself again.
