Wayne Bridge
is set to sign for us on loan till the end of the season, according to the Daily Star. He should be available for the Arsenal game on Saturday. Allegedly.

Re: Wayne Bridge
Believe it when I see it, be a huge boost actually having a LB let alone one as good as him. Sick of most of our games having a back 4 of CB's

Re: Wayne Bridge
According to SSN, who are mainly wanking over Beckham training at Spurs at the moment, Bridge is set for a medical at Upton Park. We'd apparenly pay his full wages, but as someone pointed out on another forum, that comes to about £2 million to the end of the season. A small price to pay, if it helps us avoid relegation, wouldn't you say?

Re: Wayne Bridge
Deffo, I think the David's would spend 10mill on 5 loan players to keep us up.
Apparently Villa are up for him but the pull factors we have is he can go back to London to see folk, all his wages paid to City which allegedly Villa won't do, and lets face it.....he will start every single match whereas at Villa he might not

Cant say I am too disappointed if he goes to West Ham, the wages are a joke and could case unrest IMHO. Do think he would have started every game for us though English. If his attitude is right, he is a good player

Warnick is on his way out, probably to Blackburn. I hope for West Hams sake that Bridge is better than Warock has been for nearly a year

Re: Wayne Bridge
Warnock has been shite so I wouldn't have minded Bridge on loan, although Clarke did well there against Chelsea, so not the end of the world.

I imagine we were the only team to offer to pay his wages in full.

Re: Wayne Bridge
And I think it's worth pointing out that we wouldn't have got a look in with a player like him a year ago. Even 6 months ago. I don't expect any of you Villans would have minded him going to Villa Park, so stop your sour grapiness.

Re: Wayne Bridge
To be fair beds, 6 months ago I would still have rated Warnock higher than Bridge and as soon as the rumour came up that we were interested in him, I came on here saying I wasnt too thrilled at the thought of another money grabber

Not for 95k per week I wouldnt. with no guarantee he will give a jot either and could possibly cause unrest within the rest of the squad on that wages. Who was the last full back the Hammers got on top dollar wages, wasnt he the best full back in the world?

Re: Wayne Bridge
I'd hope they'd see the help he could be to the team. We've had a mixed result paying top dollar, haven't we, from Freddie Ljungberg to Scottie Parker. He'll cost us around £2 million in wages. Quite small potatoes in football, really.

Not sure how much effect a left back can influence the rest of the team beds, but they certainly battled last night

I nearly got knocked over when Cole's goal went in and haven't got too much voice today for some reason.
Good old lucky knickers, eh?

Ashley Cole and Leighton Baines both have a massive effect on how a game goes..

Re: Wayne Bridge
Bridge is a prime example of what's been going wrong in football for years now. He's decent enough but has been paid the wages of a world beater whilst spending the best years of his career happily sitting on the bench. Can't blame the fella himself, but i'd question his hunger for the game. He's better than what West Ham have but i can't say i was too keen on the prospect of him signing for Villa. It's a lot of money to lay out on one player who will take a few games to pick up the pace of first team action and the other players reaction to the size of his wages could be disruptive.

....when your only LB has been injured all season and your defence is 4 CB's or 3 CB and a LM (apart from now Avram has remembered we have a RB in Faubert) you'd accept any half decent LB to improve the game
