Rugby Tactics????? Empty Rugby Tactics?????

It would be nice once in a blue moon for someone at Arsenal to just say we were beaten because we didn't play well... Instead we always get a silly reason that is never the fault of Arsenal....

This weeks one is Ipswich played the route one game or as it now is called Rugby... Its not like they have never seen that style of play before...

Even when there is a compliment about the winners it comes through gritted teeth with a spurious reason for the loss

It's a point of view, Cath.
Whatever the tactics, on the day they were certainly effective against us. Wink

Cesc blames 'rugby' tactics

That'll be why he missed from 5 yards out.. He was playing the wrong game!

Fabregas is a top class player, but he has done this more than once. It's about time Wenger told him to button it and show a bit of class as a man

In terms of football managers, football people even - if Wenger hasn't got "class" I don't know who has!

No your right, nothing classier than never being able to accept defeat or claiming that the media and English football in general are out to get Arsenal whenever things don't go their way.. Or NEVER seeing a bad incident that involves one of his players doing wrong..

Real classy. Great manager (one of the best ever) but is a first class tool.

Someone who loses with grace and humility presumably. I think our dear old Avram has handled his last mile with dignity and grace.

Wenger said that his team were naive - he didn't lose with bad grace, he didn't criticize Ipswich at all (unlike Captain Cesc). Avram Grant (the "poor" bloke) is learning good grace the hard way, by being a friend of Abramovich for a start, and turning up for jobs that have a no-win future. He's in it for the money - good luck to him. But it's got nothing (or little) to do with football! Barbara Cartland had grace - you may as well compare football managers to her!

I'm not comparing him with anyone in particular, just saying that for all his managerial qualities he lacks class, whick if you removed your Arsenal tinted specs you'd have to agree with.

Yes, with you on that mate.Don't get me wrong I think Wenger has been great for our league. An on song Arsenal side is easily the best team to watch, but his credibility has been comprimised by his lack of humility down the years. He will quite rightly go down in history as one of the finest managers to grace our league but his failure to see Arsenal offences and bemoaning of decisions against him leave him open to ridicule.

To be fair, it was not Wenger slagging off Ipswich after the game, he said they had performed better tahn Arsenal. It was Fabregas and got to say dont think he covers himself in glory with his comments

Alan Hansen the footballer was good, Alan Hansen the pundit is a biased Old Queen with too many bad memories to have any class at all.
