Fulham
So whats the team going to be for Fulham then, I'm thinking he will go with Bent up front on his own and look for a draw
Given
Young Collins Dunne Warnock
Albrighton Makoun Petrov NZogbia
Ireland
Bent

I think it'll be a draw or a win for either team.
Fulham have been rubbish preseason, can see it being a boring game with someone knicking a winner.

Re: Fulham
Yeh in the friendlies we have played our full team its been very tight and quite boring, we lack creativity and Bent isn't very good at anything apart from scoring.
So boring game then

Oh and I think you might get some good odds on that down the bookies

I think he'll go with,
Given
Young Collins Dunne Warnock
N'Frog Petrov Makoun Heskey
Gabby Bent
Personally i'd prefer Albrighton on the right with N'Zogbia on the left and Heskey on the bench.I'd also be surprised if we see a 4-5-1 as McMinge is aware that a lot of the opposition to his appointment was to do with his reputation of dour 4-5-1 defensive play and unlike most new appointments he won't be getting a honeymoon period.By the way i think a draw at Fulham has to be viewed as a decent result in light of their home record in recent seasons.1-1 for me with Gabby getting the goal.

Re: Fulham
We have quite a good record at Fulham though, and we really should have won there last year it was a dominant performance but thats how last season went for us.
Hope we don't see Nzog on the right and Heskey on the left
Also didn't mcminge say in an interview that he would play more defensively away from home, so think it will def be bent upfront on his own.

Re: Fulham
Would prefer to go with the team QB says he wants but suspect Heskey will be playing. Other option is Bannan wide with N'Zogbia with two up front, suspect that would be Heskey not gabby mind

I have a horrible gut feeling that Fulham will win. First home game, new manager etc etc

Re: Fulham
Jol will want a win ok, as said 1st game at home etc: a draw is all we can hope for or a fluky win 0-1

Re: Fulham
Finally Football is back.. No matter what goes on in summer you can't beat the build up to the first game and the season off and running.
Re: Fulham
Fulham: Schwarzer, Hughes, Hangeland, Senderos, John Arne Riise, Duff, Etuhu, Murphy, Dempsey, Andrew Johnson, Zamora. Subs: Etheridge, Kelly, Sidwell, Baird, Kasami, Briggs, Dembele.
Aston Villa: Given, Young, Collins, Dunne, Warnock, Delph, Petrov, N'Zogbia, Heskey, Bent, Agbonlahor. Subs: Guzan, Ireland, Albrighton, Delfouneso, Makoun, Clark, Bannan
Heskey on the right then and Delph starting instead of Makoun..

Re: Fulham
Fulham will be a hard place to go this season so it's a good point and a clean sheet..
But unlike last year we didn't create anything except a weak Heskey shot.. We need something creative in the middle. Kranjcear is still available if Lerner would sanction it ..

Re: Fulham
Said it all pre-season, creativity a massive problem, didn't force Schwarzer into a single save. Defence looks good but we aren't going to score loads of goals, Bent looked very isolated today he isn't going to be happy without service.

avfcsscott, didn't i say the game would be boring? i don't mean to suck my own dick and call myself a sexy ho but on this occasion i may make exceptions.
sometimes i remind myself of the oracle from the matrix. not often, but sometimes.
