Wage Structure...
Time to break it and sign RvP up on a long term contract.
Top class goals per game ratio.

I'm sure The Arsenal will do all they can to keep him.
I think ultimately the whole thing will hinge on what chance RvP thinks The Arsenal have of winning trophies.
I think there is a spirit in the current side that I haven't seen for a while.

Give him the £200k a week he'd get at Man City and he wouldn't give a fcuk

I'm not so sure with RvP. He's a strange guy and has a very good relationship with Wenger. I would not be surprised to see him stay at The Arsenal when his playing days are over. He's already on contract to us until he's over 30.
We'll have to wait and see.

Re: Wage Structure...
I know what you mean there jak - RvP seems to have a level of intelligence above what we expect for your average footballer. English-bred footballers are, or appear to be, a pretty thick bunch. Apparently that's the reputation we have elsewhere on "The Continent" e.g. most German footballers have acquired a certain level of general education before starting on their football career whereas our lads have all come up through the juniors and forgotten/overlooked the fact that football might not provide the necessary bread-and-butter needed for a lifetime.
I digress. RvP seems to be a civilised person and I trust that he may see his enormous earnings at The Arsenal, even when not playing and on the physio's couch for months on end, are worth the extra mile to put The Arsenal back on the map - alternatively he'll take the double/treble-your-money offer at the likes of ManC, live well for the rest of his life but never have that feeling of loyalty and affection for a club like The Arsenal.

At 30 he may just see that one big last pay day would be a good idea... I think most would

You're right and we'd all understand. However, if you love the club, are finacially well-off anyway (as most top players are) perhaps you'll see some value in loyalty - then again perhaps not. If it's only money you play for ManC, Chelsea, given the chance, if it's more than that then you weigh what's on offer against what you like.

RvP is an Arsenal man. I think the right investment in the team and good progress will see him stay with us.
