Seeing as thou Tilts is the only scum fan on here so there wont be much gloating..

Have to say what a fantastic job Houghton is doing.. sold virtually his whole squad but is still doing a great job.. proving to be a very good manager..

He's doing so well in fact, folks might get his name right...........................

Yeah, I've been very impressed with Hughton so far.

You get the feeling that he approaches every game with the belief that we can win and the players speak very highly of him. The team spirit seems great and the football is so much better to watch than what we've been used to for many years.

Sitting at the top of our group in the Europa League, with the team we've got, speaks volumes.

They are indeed. Quietly impressive, Hughton is developing a really good reputation.

TBH I thought he was pretty good in previous posts he's held - he may be an ex-Spud but he's the exception which proves the rule IMO!

Well, they were "joint top" or second on goal difference before the match, now they're "joint top" or third on goal difference after it. Still, a good fight-back after being 0-2 down at half time, eh?

No, we were top before the game.

If two teams are on the same number of points, posistion is decided by the head-to-head record between the two teams. We beat them so we were top.

How come Bruge are now top and Braga third despite them smashing you?
I'm not saying you're wrong about the separator, I just can't figure that out.

From UEFA rules for the Europa League:

If two or more teams are equal on points on completion of all the group
matches, the following criteria are applied to determine the rankings (in
descending order):
a) higher number of points obtained in the group matches played among the
teams in question;
b) superior goal difference from the group matches played among the teams
in question;
c) higher number of goals scored in the group matches played among the
teams in question;
d) higher number of goals scored away from home in the group matches
played among the teams in question;
e) if, after having applied criteria a) to d), two teams still have an equal
ranking, criteria a) to d) are reapplied to determine the final ranking of the
two teams. If this procedure does not lead to a decision, criteria f) to h)
apply;
f) superior goal difference from all group matches played;
g) higher number of goals scored from all group matches played;
h) higher number of coefficient points accumulated by the club in question,
as well as its association, over the previous five seasons

If it's the table on the UEFA website you've looked at, I think it's wrong and Braga should be top with Blues second and Brugge third. That's how the table I saw somewhere else looked this morning anyway.

It was the UEFA one. Fecking odd system, should just stick to goal difference.

I prefer it this way as it puts us second.
