Re: Spurs tonight
I can't believe how shit we are. Oleary days are back!
What is Albrighton doing on the bench.
Spurs are having Barca amount of possession.
50M spent on defenders over the last few seasons to leave us with a static shit back four that can't defend set pieces!!

Yup. They didnt even need to get out of 2nd gear, because we were like an automatic car stuck in neutral!

Well...well...well. Villa should have sent the points by post. They didn't even raise a gallop. It was a kickabout for the Spuds. Not a single Villa player can say he gave his all in that game. Terrible!!!!!

Re: Spurs tonight
Should have started with Delph in midfield to combat Parker, would've been a great battle. Warnock needs to be dropped in my opinon, for Clark. Drop Heskey for N'Zogbia, drop Hutton or Collins for Cuellar. Not quite sure how a 33 year old striker will be effective as a playmaker or a left winger.
Maybe the starting 11 should've been:
................Given
Herd Cuellar Dunne Clark
...............Petrov
Albrighton Delph N'Zogbia
...........Agbonlahor
..................Bent
Think that team would've shown more grit and determination.

Re: Spurs tonight
Not a good summary................
2158: Infostrada Sports tell me that Darren Bent had all three of Aston Villa's shots (one on target and two off), with Villa failing to register a single goal attempt in the last 40 minutes. Evan allowing for the fact there are lies, damn lies and statistics, that's pretty grim.

As a neutral, with a Villa bias tonight, I thought in degrees of bad, Herd was REALLY bad.

Jak, through my claret and blue tinted eyesight, Herd was the only one in midfield actually trying to do something. Infact it was his superb cross that Bent got on the end of for our only real chance.

Re: Spurs tonight
What a fecking embarrassment that was.
Basically we had one creative player on the pitch in Gabby, that was it. We never stood a chance of getting anything out of that game.
We knew that Spurs were going to have more of the ball than us, so we should play players that can hit them on the break and hurt them when we have the ball, instead we have Heskey and fucking Hutton.
McLeish should be embarrassed of himself with that team he put out there. Going on about defensive mistakes, they could have had about 5 goals you twat.

Re: Spurs tonight
Jak, I actually thought Herd battled well in the middle, dont help when you have two players out wide who are totally alien to playing there. If Spurs had got 8 goals, it wouldnt have flattered them. Tactics totally wrong

I know you are on the wined up but I will answer you anyway.
Last night was the first really **** up that he did, and certainly reverted to what all Blues fans said he would be like, the worst thing is that after the game, he doesn't seem to realise that he made a massive mistake tactically, he just blames defensive errors even though he only played one player who was likely to create anything.
If he keeps on picks sides like last night, then he will be working out very badly.
Come Christmas time we will be able to tell you for sure how is working out.

Yeah, couldn't resist. Soz.
I thought that you lot hadn't been happy with the way things were going for a while now though, not just last night? Hasn't he had you playing boring, negative football since the start of the season? I'm only going on what I've heard from viler mates but that's the impression I got.
I see that he hasn't lost his annoying habit of playing people out of posistion too and not understanding why things aren't working.

Re: Spurs tonight
It would've been difficult to pick a less effective and more negative team last night. We surrendered before the game even kicked off, he was trying to field a side that might play out a goal-less draw and instead we got stuffed.

I only really go to the home games, and the last one against Norwich and the Wigan game wasn't to bad, certainly not to negative but last night's team just gave up the game before it even started, then at half time we are 2-0 down and getting battered, and he still doesn't bother changing it, like he was happy to try and keep it 2-0.
