What more can I say.
When there's no engine in the engine room of a team where's it gonna go?

What needs to be done to fix it jak?

Is it a case of the players are just not good enough or is it that Wenger just can't motivate them?

There are some average players in the Arsenal team now, only saw second half, but no fight shown IMHO.

Too many of our players are not good enough and are too weak but then again, I've watched the same players let us down over and over again. It took over 100 games for Wenger to discover that Denilson was not up to it, where as anyone with half a brain could see he would struggle in a Championship side.The same goes for Rosicky, he is weak and lazy. What are we doing with Squillacci? Why did we EVER sign Sylvestre (unforgiveable)? What about Park, Benayoun, why were they signed? Benayoun has been a nearly man wherever he's played, why did we need him? Arteta is past his best and certainly not up for a battle. Djourou is a shambles, meat and drink for any decent centre forward, that's been plain to see for some time now, yet he's still there!!!! Tragically, I could go on!!!!
There's no movement off the ball, no forward runners from midfield, we're so static and caught time and time again on the counter attack, where the midfield is so often caught flatfooted. Van Persie has done fantastic, particularly so when you consider he gets such shit service. He'll be away for the same reason that Fabregas was away because he sees no prospect of winning anything at The Arsenal. Two great world class players that we failed to build a team around.
I cannot believe that I've watched an Arsenal side play with so little passion in consecutive games, I don't think anyone could motivate these players too many are not up to it and those that are, are quitters.
I'm a great admirer of Wenger but you can't get away from the fact that this is the team that he built.
I do think there are major problems with his backup. I believe that the lack of an experienced transfer fixer led to us running about at the 11th hour panicing to sign anybody in the August window, hence the players we did sign, two of whom the manager clearly has no confidence to pick.
So all in all you can guess how gutted I am at the capitulation of my beloved club.

The excuses have started

Obviously our worst season for a long, long time. We've had (and continue to have) injury problems which have contributed to the fact that we're constantly having to play squad players but it would appear that those squad players just aren't up to trying to claim a regular place in the team on merit.
Next season, when we'll hopefully have a fit-again Jack Wilshere at the hub of midfield things should already be looking better except, of course if we lose any more key players (RvP I'm talking about you). Meanwhile it's a question of seeing out the remainder of this shabby season - seeing whether our players are better than they've appeared to be in recent matches and can hold on to fourth spot in the Premier League. That's only for the money CL brings in, of course because, TBH I doubt that we can have any real expectations of getting near the CL trophy anytime soon.
On the other hand, maybe it's time for a re-think. Although it's pretty damned hard for me to imagine how we can change the way the club functions either from a "financial model" point of view or from the management. If Arsene Wenger were to leave we'd have one hell of a problem to find a replacement (I'm assuming Guardiola will not be available) and I'd truly hate us to "do a Chelsea/ManC". What a mess! Still - I've been around long enough to know just how bad it can get and we're still the only club to have remained at the top level of English football in living memory so fans of other clubs will have more recent memories of worse times than we're having.

The fact that you mention Guardiola means you are not thinking rationally about this crisis at your club.... You ought to be looking at the likes of Steve Bruce and Avram Grant.....

Wenger is still one of the top managers in the Prem even now,he has constantly over achieved with Arsenal,,oh you may think i am taking the Micheal with that remark well i am not,,i follow Arsenal quite closely because strangely enough we have some Arsenal fans (southerners) who go in our local pub, so genuine Arse fans,,Arsenal are a financially strong well run club,,and lots if not all of that in my oppinion is due to Wengers astuteness in the transfer market,,a good manager does not become a bad one,,things will turn and he will know what to do,,he is still a top manager,,
