Well that was a bit close for comofort.. fantastic game thou..

Plus points where Welbeck's goal and general movement.. Walcott had a fantastic game as super sub..

Negatives.. defending wasn't great and Ash young was rubbish two games running..

But a wins a win and we look set for the Quarters..

Young has been shite. Good result but we will get cut open in the center of the park by a better side. No discipline to hold a position, Oarker gives the ball away far to often.

MELLBERG

Mellberg was excellent, hard to believe MON got rid of him and brought in the slow drunk Dunne

For the first time in ages, we played like we meant it. Good game, good result.

aside from 10 minutes of guff defending that was a very good performance. Walcott is so much better as an impact sub. I'd fancy us against the Croats, and the Italians don't look particularly special. Need to avoid the Spaniards though.

I'm still mostly enjoying this tournament.
Good result for Engerland against the Swedes but I have the feeling that was two pretty ordinary teams competing out there.
Engerland good points - well, Hodgson seems to be making the right decisions - great English-Old-School goal starring Gerrard (excellent cross) and Carroll (I actually leapt from me seat and punched the air and I don't care?!) - great Super-Sub appearance from Theo (and Gerrard should've left the second Walcott cross to The Ox who would've buried it)!
Bad points - we still keep giving the ball away, even Gerrard - Cole looked off the pace and where was Young?
Still, three points and a few goals against Ukraine might see us avoid defeat to Spain in the quarters - it's up to Hodgson to continue to prove he knows what he's doing in his team selection.
