Is this for real?

I hope not.
It seems that we are considering paying 14M to Barcelona for David Villa.
Now he has been a top class striker....BUT!!!!
He is 31, is returning from a broken leg and is no longer wanted by Barca.
We have Sagna, Ramsey, Diaby and previously Eduardo, all of whom suffered breaks or the like, none of whom are the player they were prior to the injury.
Now we're looking to sign someone approaching the twilight of their career, to whom the same is more than likely to apply.
This smacks of desperation!!!!
Feck knows what's going on at The Arsenal, can ALL the people at the top be idiots?

I'd see it as a positive if I were you. The last few years it's been all about signing them young and then selling for a profit. At 31 you'd imagine this to be Villa's last move. Top class international experienced striker who over the next two seasons could prove to be the difference between 4th and 5th. I know that under Wenger Arsenal have never finished lower than 4th but the level of competition is different now. The Manc clubs have the top two slots then it's two from Arsenal,Chelsea,Spurs,Everton and Liverpool.

But David Villa is far from the player he was.
He's crocked.

It is a bit risky.. he has been injured for a while and might not be the player he was anymore..

I am surprised you didn't try and get Ba if reports are to believed or your not in for LLorente who is out of contract in the summer..

If he was the player he was then Arsenal wouldn't be able to compete for his signing.
