I remember the final home game of the season against Ipswich.i was standing in the south bank, absolutely packed 42000+. Brilliant atmosphere, one of the best home games I have ever been to.To think we could have won the league incredible.those really were the last of the days when any club, that was well managed and played as a team could win the top prize in football.unlike today where those with the deepest pockets win year in year out. But anyway huge thanks and respect to all those great players from 1986, they gave us fans a season that will never be forgotten. "And now your gonna believe us where gonna win the league " come on you irons.

You had a great team with mcavennie and cottee up front Mark, were in contention till the last few games from what I recall. Money does talk these days, but we all live in hope. Got to say 100k per week for Carroll pisses me off when we have a far superior centre forward and are trying to get him to sign a contract for 40k. Bentekes agent must be enjoying himself with that revelation
