The Cup
Quarter-final, verses Everton at The Grove - I fancy our chances despite the fact we've apparently lost Jack Wilshere for a minimum 6 weeks due to a hairline fracture (thanks Agger) sustained in last night's meaningless friendly and Koscielny is bothered by a hamstring twang. Not good news but we've got the players who can take over in those positions and I'm hoping the team are aware that The Cup presents a real possibility this season. Come on Arsenal!

Re: The Cup
You have to understand that at our age it's all a matter of which way the wind is blowing and what we've eaten the night before. I know jpr loves a cup, the same as I do but there are cups and cups, if you get my drift.

Re: The Cup
This is the FA Cup we're talking about, not the effin League Cup. Now, the FA Cup is the third most important trophy for a decent club to be considering. The first is obviously the bread-and-butter trophy, the championship, the second is the European Cup or Champions League (as it's called these days cos it's neither one thing nor the other, in truth), then comes the FA Cup. So, what I'm saying is, we're in the quarter-finals now, we should perhaps consider taking this trophy potential seriously. That's it really, no need to get your head in a sweat over it Tilton, Old Chap.

Nice win today, a good all-round performance and some excellence from The Ox and Ozil.
Let's take than onto the next match, against The Germans! Come on Arsenal.

I expect the same applies to women, in your case.

Semi-final v Wigan. I was hoping we'd meet Citeh in the final and we get the team that knocked them out (again) in the semi-final - that will do nicely!

What a great performance from Wigan against City.
They will be no pushover at Wembley, a match to look forward to.

Re: The Cup
So we got past Wigan and now it's The Final coming up.
I'm always saddened at the end of the football season (whether we've done well or not) just because it's another one gone, I suppose. This time around we've got an FA Cup Final to look forward to and, I have to say that's a bit special - makes me think of the "good old days", Arsenal v Liverpool (Charlie George), Arsenal v ManU (Alan Sunderland) and the build-up will be a pleasure to take the mind off the fact that "proper" football won't be around for a while. Let's hope we're gonna enjoy the day and that The Arsenal put on a show to reflect what a good team they are!

Re: The Cup
Yes, we need a win, no messing.
The team needs to give their all and rise to the occasion anything less and once again we'll have no one to blame but ourselves.
Come on you Gunners!!!!!!!

Re: The Cup
Getting nicely warmed up now - this time tomorrow I expect to be in a state of glorious satisfaction but meanwhile the build-up has begun......who will be fit (doubts for Vermaelen, The Ox), who will start in goal ("heart says Fabianski, head says Szczensy" I've heard a few times now), who will start up top (can't believe there's any doubt that'll be our top-scorer) plus predictions of this being "The Ramsey Final". Anything can happen, of course bit I'm thinking there'll be a surprise star - perhaps Sagna or Cazorla (which wouldn't be a surprise anyway), it could be that Ozil will run the show from start to finish - the whole thing is less than 24 hours away and I'm well up for it. Come on Arsenal!

Re: The Cup
A fashion note - I'm wearing my no.5 Vermaelen shirt today. Thomas Vermaelen, club captain, who probably won't play (although he'll be on the bench if passed fit) but I still like the man!

I think we'll hang on to him, French. He can be a frustrating character at times but better the devil you know and all that.
A few decent signings, the return of our pacey young players and the sky's the limit for this squad and I'm sure Wenger is the man to lead us onward.
I see Lambert is out at Villa, what d'you reckon, is he the right man for Spurs?

Re: The Cup
We won the fecker! Didn't matter the ref didn't see four penalty claims, we still managed to handle being 2-0 down and win the match. Let's face it, we are The Business and next season it'll be the Citehs and Chelskis who'll be looking up at us! Come on Arsenal!
