Very strange, got to be to do with money or the club wants to sell Ashley Young.

What a stroker, leaving the week before the season kicks off. If its because he is being forced to sell Young then the club is in the shit, RL has given up and we're back to the Deadly days. BOLLOCKS

It can only be to do with him not having any money, surely! Have you actually signed anyone this summer?
Him going is a MASSIVE loss as it would be to any side. A bit gutted for you lot as it goes..

We aint going to get any decent manager in now either, this season will be a massive step back now for me. If he had resigned month or so ago we might have been able to get Hodgson or Hughes, who is available now? no one.

Yes yes after a couple of years of ripping the piss out of your shite team I get the feeling it will be a our turn to take it this year now. I'm not saying that MON was so fantastic that without him we are screwed, but resigning only a week before the start of the season, shock to the players, searching for a new manager all that stuff I think will screw us over this year.

Feck it, he was our saviour, and we'll always value him for that. New chapter now.

Re: MON Resigns
My mate text me with the news and I hoped he was bullsh*tting me as usual. Totally gutted and I am really pissed off with Aston Villa`s board, owner etc. We obviously have feck all to spend and MON would have been told today that he was getting feck all of the Milner revenue to strenghen the side. I dont blame him one bit, you cant compete in the Premier League without continious financial backing.
The worst thing and at the worst time. We couldnt match James Milners ambition thats why he`s off, now with O`Neill gone do we match Ashley Youngs ambitions?
I hope Im just jumping the gun as I so pissed off with this but at present I feel like our "saviour" Randy Lerner may have been just another Prem owner who has completely underestimated the fianancial commitment needed to compete at the top end.
"Bright future", my f*cking arse!

Re: MON Resigns
Cant fecking beleive it.. nearly crashed the van when the story broke..
Its got to be down to the fact that either Oneil couldnt have all the Milner money or that Ashley Young was available for sale if the right price was agreed..
All in all we are fucked.. I dont want to jump the gun and start blaming Lerner.. cus he has done a lot for us.. maybe football really is screwed and heading towards bankruptcy.. so no clubs can actually spend.. even United arent spending the Ronaldo money....
As for sucessor.. well if we havent got money then **** know who.. Curbisheley and if we do have funds then Klinsmann is a good contact of Lerners or maybe Martin Jol...

Re: MON Resigns
Can't blame Lerner IMO, he's backed MON EVERY single season in the transfer market.
Well, can't blame him yet - until we find out what really happened.
