He signed a contract with Norwich and the club have every right to reject an advance from another club. The man wouldn't know integrity and class if it smacked him round the face. He's a very good manager and fits the bill for the Villa job but wait until a bigger team comes sniffing around.

Why? I've never begrudged any of the Villa players that have moved on, don't blame any of them. It's football isn't it, there is always someone bigger than you out there.

Man U come along tomorrow and off Fat Sam the job, he's off, it's just how it goes. You can't blame them.

If someone comes along to poach Lambert, we will have had to finish top 8 at least for a couple of seasons running and most likely had a run in a cup.

If he does well and a top club come in for him, it will mean that Villa are in a better position than they are at the moment, so everyone's a winner. Only player I can think I was really pist off when bettering himself was Dwight Yorke, for the way he went about it. If a club comes in for him within two years, then it's means he will have done a cracking job.

Welcome him with open arms if he left for Liverpool, probably not as I hate them but I wouldn't blame him as they are a far bigger club than Villa.

I wouldnt be calling him a knobhead if that happened and any Norwich fan who does so only needs to look at the club statement to see how much he has done for them.

To be successful at the villa basically means he will have us back in the top 6, teams higher then that look for the big names in world football, so its not really a worry.

If he was offered a bigger club than the Villa after two years then you're talking Man U, Man C,Chelsea, Liverpool or Spurs. To get those jobs he'd have done something special and would receive the same level of welcome that Little,Atkinson and Graham Taylor get at Villa Park. To go anywhere else would be a step down meaning he'd failed so i doubt anyone would really give a fcuk. You've got to remembet us Midlanders aint like you Hammers. The truth is Lambert has no ties to Villa, or the area. It's a job. A great wage and a bigger platform on which he can boost his CV. He'll use Villa to further his career the same way he's used Norwich. After the three seasons that he's given the Norwich fans they won't begrudge him that. They'll be pissed off he's leaving because they know it'll weaken them.

Norwich have turned down his resignation because then they can go for compensation. Lambert's on a rolling 12 month contract. Watching SSN, the fans seem to want Malkie Mackay.
