Re: Arsenal
ROT, I know what you mean about the passing, it was appalling. My problem though was that we didnt get in their faces from the kick off, gave them far too much space and they fully exploited that. When we got stuck in after half time, we at least gave them a bit more of the game. I agree he needs more time and get some of the injured players back before we judge Houllier, but he will be under pressure.

As for presure on him if we lose to Liverpool away, disagree with that as well, our injuries have been horrific. David Moyes and Mark Hughes up for the boot as well?
Besides, think we will beat Blues but lose to Liverpool.
Fuckle fans like Lutes QB and Mal will be the reason he will be under pressure
Its obvious we have a crippling injury list.. small squad and we have FOUR of our main midfielders all out.. NO strikers.. dont know what everyone expects.. if anything the way we ripped Man U apart is a good indicator that once we get the players fit and transfers in we will be fine..
I hope your right.. would take a win over Bham and a defeat at Liverpool in an instant...

We cant just say everything is fine because it isnt at the moment. I have decided that until the mad frog goes, I will not be posting again on the Villa board. Enough is enough and I hope others follow my lead. I know this is a drastic step and is not something I have taken lightly. I am a man of principles, but I cannot bear it any more

Re: Arsenal
Question you have to ask is, what does your gut instinct tell you, would that team have played in that way under Martin O'Neill, would we have got that kind of result the way that result was fashioned, you have to compare like with like, in spite of injuries, injuries are part of the game and you could say part of the luck at that time, that surrounds the club, how many managers have sunk beyond trace not because they where bad managers but because of circumstance, injuries, the players, board confidence, shit at Chelsea it comes down to if you face don't fit.
There has to be milestones within the way a season is played out, Newcastle was one, Blues is deffo another, and the minute we hit 17Th will be another milestone, the problem for WHU isn't that they are that bad a team its because they are frozen with the inability to act to change things, so they struggle, dogged by a momentum of media negativity of manager on the brink, players being sold etc, you have to stabilize a club when things get rocky, show ambition, its all very well saying give the man a chance, he's a very well paid chancer, who gives a phuk, he must turn it around or go, no recrimination no bitterness, it just didn't work,!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!and the next please.
Blues is a must win, we then have to look at Liverpool.

Re: Arsenal
I dont blame Houllier at all for our predicament. He has inherited a small squad in terms of Premiership quality. He has ideas, he`s a footballing manager but we havent got the personnel who can carry out the sort of performances that he wants for Villa. Too many average MON type players, not his own types. Add to this the worst injury list I remember us having I dont think even Jose Mourinho or Pep could have done much more. The blame game Im afraid I will reserve for January. Lerner needs to back his new man and back him big, he shut the wallet last transfer window and our manager walked.
Im hoping the Man Utd performance (minus the last 20 minutes) is a glimpse of what he wants Villa to move onto. Im hoping that he gets the chance to blend our very exciting youths with 3/4 signings of his own

Re: Arsenal
Good points Villahagler, to be fair to Lerner he always backed MON and am sure he will back Houllier in January. We just need to ensure we start picking up a few points. Need some of the injured players back

I agree with this VH, that is the part stating that Lerner must back his man, big time, we are talking 30+ million in January alone, remember we still have the Milner fund, if Lerner doesn't back his man, and Houllier starts looking at players like Pires and as previously rumoured Juninho, who must be about 62, forget it, we are in big trouble, the player will smell a rat and we'll sink, because as you say the squad is small, you couldn't even divide the team and Houllier say we'll at least I've got those players playing for me, i haven't completely lost the dressing room, in a squad this size one player will ultimately be all players.
Need to add to this, obviously Gabby is an exception to any revolt, he probably hasn't realised that MON has gone yet.

Exactly.. we have some quality players in our team.. we must forget that and we have some very very good youngsters.. i think Houllier will have a min of 20M to spend..

Give the man a feckin chance.
Nah he's medicore now. 37 years old, not mobile enough. He can still pass, but when Petrov and NRC come back, I'd assume he'd be a bit-part player.
And now, theres rumours of GH looking to sign Juninho - he's 35 y/o FFS.

I dont think we are after Junihinio and Pires was only brought in cus we cant buy anyone.. plus nothing wrong with having a few old heads in the squad.. players who have done the business.. we have a very young team.. even the likes of Gabby and Young are still learning..

Jak, thats a bit OTT, Luton may get up to all sorts of tricks and turns but to alleged and accuse someone of being a mate of his, that is way to strong, and think about Ades feelings when you say this, you could mucky the waters of his character for years to come.
