Re: Club statement
Depends if an illegal act can be proved, and if the PI can demonstrate that they were acting on specific instructions. I'm just as interested in Spurs offering to drop their bid for a judicial review if we drop the allegations. Smelly business.

Unsubstantiated noise?
I doubt that.
I would suggest that it is as reported and Spurs are trying to block any investigation as they are aware the tactics used may well be illegal

Well, if it's untrue, Spurs aren't protesting very loudly, are they? And they have the media noise king on their books. I give you 'Arry Redknapp......
Oh, and Barry Hearn uses his influence a a sports promoter to flap his gob at any opportunity.
Levy and Hearn are playing a dangerous delaying game. They want money from the Government but if it ends up with Spurs getting the OS and having to keep the running track I shall do a lot of laughing.

And I never suggested you did.
I was just making the point that, unlike their usual bollox in the press where they just talk because they like seeing their names/pictures in the papers, this was something more.

Did you listen to Hearne on the Today program this morning ?? He thinks he has your lot by the nuts over this loan from Newham.... and to be honest with what I know about the EU rules for ending to private companies he is probably right.

Re: Club statement
Nope, didn't hear it.
I doubt very much that the Government would endorse a loan that would be in breach of EU regulations.
The way I saw it was that Newham would front £40m which would be paid back then they would get a share in the stadium and receipts which looks more like a proper partnership than just a loan. I may be wrong.

Hearns said this on Talksport last night.
"West Ham moving into "their" (Orient) area is like being in bed in the middle of the night and someone breaking into your house, raping your wife and children and you have to just lay there in bed and can't do anything about it"
Adrian Durham, who was interviewing him, said "Yeah, they get a £40 million loan from Newham around the same time they're signing Kevin Nolan and paying him £60,000 a week...coincidence?!".
Not a word I use often, but what a pair of cnuts.

Whatever. If you think that kind of thing's acceptable, there's not a lot I can say.

It is just their opinion and they are paid to be controversial.... dont take it to heart... if they said anything that was libelous I am sure the porno pair will be on it like flies to dung....

As I mentioned elsewhere, there's breaches of the DPA, phone hacking and now extortion.

Apparently the Telegraph & the Standard are running with this today. The Telegraph is saying Spurs wanted "indemnity against legal action", which sounds like someone over there is shittin' themselves.

So did Tony Adams, Pauil Merson, Paul Gasgoine and Jimmy Greaves to name but 4 and I would have every single one of them in my team if they were available.
As long as it doesn't affect his day job...actually, his weekend job, then who gives a shit?

As I said before... If Levy has done wrong then he needs to be locked up. Personally I would doubt he would be as stupid to have any link to him on something like this.
I also dont think that Wet Spam could give immunity for these offenes.. They are criminal ones and that is an issue for the Police and the DPP.... So what ever you are reading is either bollocks or you are not reading it right...
