He's very prone to lapses in concentration, and while he's committed and strong in the air, his positional sense and reading of the game is poor. I'll admit he has proved me wrong so far this season but I expect Sam will sell if he gets an offer of £5m+

As a non Hammer, therefore unbiased, i'd say Reid is your best defender. Collins is a wholehearted never give up type, technically lacking and Tomkins is Championship standard. They all benefit greatly from having a manager who can organise a defensive unit as well as any of the top managers.

Reid is vastly improved under Sam, he was very young when he came to us on the back of a good World Cup. I'd like to see him stay with us.

i think you are wrong tomkins is much better than collins in the air and slightly more gifted defender than him too...he played very well against newcastle on sunday
