Wasn't there high hopes for Sears at West Ham? i'd have thought a season getting regular first team football in a fair size club would be ideal for his development before returning to West Ham.Or is it a case that he promised a lot and hasn't delivered?

He was really unlucky
His first appearance and he scored a goal minutes after coming on raised everyones expectations.
This season he has been restricted on his appearances.
Next season, if he stayed, he would be booooooed mercilessly by some of the neanderthals we have so it's good he is going on loan

He managed to give Jamie Carragher a sneaky shove in the Liverpool game and got away with it, so the spark's still there.
