Set fair for the future.
Following today's financial results, at a time when many clubs are in the crap financially, the Arsenal is in a strong position.
Run with financial restraint yet still maintaining a challenge in the major football competitions.
Many supporters are frustrated by the lack of lashing out in the transfer market but for the more sensible the current policy must be the right way forward.

Profits don't win you trophies though. Do you see Arsene splashing out £30m to strength the squad any time soon or do you think his diamonds in the rough policy will see Arsenal progress to the next level?

I believe that Arsene Wenger has successfully strengthened our squad this season.
Over the past few seasons we have had more than our fair share of injuries, look at our situation now.
So you also need your fair share of luck.
I also think that at some stage the debt levels in the PL will come home to roost. Many clubs have been sucked into the
trap laid by Abramovic and the Arab at Man.C. These blokes have exceptional wealth and you cannot compete with that, unfortunately many have tried.
No, I think the Arsenal are doing it right. The trophies will come.

Agreed Jak. They have built an excellent foundation.

With Man U and Liverpool's money troubles, Arsenal could be laughing in a few seasons time.

Re: Set fair for the future.
a little light reading this morning has revealed that all is not quite as rosy as it seems down at the Library. The clubs debt is still a whopping £140m. The figures just released look great on the back of the sale of property developed by Arsenal. This revenue isn't ongoing and won't be replaced, turnover from purely football business was down from 48m to 44 m and the wage bill up from 104m to 110m and rising!! The future will see Arsenal only just breaking even with their current wage structure and that's not taking into account Wenger. Fair play he does well in the transfer market but the next manager won't be as canny and will probably want to spend esp. if that trophy cabinet hasn't been opened for a while.

And listening to 606 on the way home, we didn't hear any love for Almunia.
Oh, and Jack Wilshere was being drivrn home in a Ferrari and clearly spotted our West Ham colours. So I gave him the crossed arms IRONS gesture on the spur of the moment. Him and the guy driving both laughed and waved. And it was a proper wave, not one of those coffee bean shaking affairs.

Please get your facts straight. Arsenal's debt is somewhat over £220m but is structured over the next 20 years.
Arsenal are in a very sound financial position.
