Dixon apparently said if he had done that to Martin Keown, he would have made sure he didnt do it again. The guy is an absolute tosser, how Mark Hughes can defend the assault on Van Persie is beyond belief, though have to say his challenge didnt look too clever either.

I've been in bad books with the missus for over celebrating the win yesterday. Knackered when got home from work at 7, she then informed me we are going to the gym. Couldnt say no as would have been admitting that I was still fceked form the beer yesterday, she certainly got her own back on me. Fiurst time we have been since we got back from holiday

He deserves a 3 match ban for the stamping, and 1 match for the cellebration, then that would take him out of the game against Villa :)

Stamping on another players head should get a lot more than 3 games though. Should be more like 3 months for assault

Very true, the ban should be at least 4 matchs just for that.
Seriously though, you are right, hopefully the FA will make an example of him because it was obviously deliberate. As for the cellebration, I think that will most likely just a fine and a telling off.

Could Ven Persie press charges against him?

Its basically assault. If you done the same thing on a night out you would end up with a criminal record.

Im not sure.
I think there was a case in a sunday league game a while back where a player had his leg broken as a result of a bad tackle. The offending player was sent off for violent conduct, and because it was violent conduct in the referees report, the injured player was able to take him to court.

Joey Barton was investigated by the police for an on-pitch incident, wasn't he?

Re: Looking forward.
Oh that seems fair. A player convicted of dangerous conduct receives a 3-match ban, a player convicted of trying to deceive a ref would get a 2-match ban - seems right and proper that,eh?
How about a 10-match ban for kicking someone in the face, that might have some affect?!
