Boxing Day - Spurs at home. Empty Boxing Day - Spurs at home.

Post  villahagler69 Sun Dec 26, 2010 9:36 am

I have no idea with this one. Would hope that we can pull out a top performance and get a result, but feel that Tottenham have pulled right away from us in terms of quality personnel. They are going well on all fronts and look very good in every department. I still feel if ALL our lads play well that we could get something from this but it will have to a full team effort, no room for Stephen Irelands today.

Villa sneak it 1-0. UTV

I suspect it will be a 1-2 win unless Villa come out and go at them hard & fast.

If they ate like VFL yesterday they have had it!

Hagler.. Really looking forward to this one mate.. We have players back from injury.. Cuellar is back in defence.. Reo in the middle.. Albrighton n Downing on the wings n an injury free Gabby upfront.. We have the quality to give them a real game.. Like I said really looking forward to this one Very Happy

Definately. Glad to have those players included. Albrighton has been the seasons high point and Downing is starting to look like a real player again. I think if we really come out on the front foot and give it go it could go well. There will be large chunks of the game where we will have very little possesion, need our defensive players to play well today. NRC a good inclusion hopefully??

Lineup...

Friedel, Lichaj, Cuellar, Collins, Warnock, Hogg, Delph, Albrighton, Downing, Heskey, Agbonlahor.

Subs - Guzan, Clark, Pires, NRC, Petrov, Delfouneso, Bannan

Interesting to see that Delph is starting.. lets see how he gets on.. Petrov is on the bench too so he isnt far off.. BUT Dunne isnt in the squad at all..

Sitting at home where he should be.. the cnut hasnt doing fcuk all all season and wants out.

Houllier got it wrong by starting with Hogg and a short of match practice Delph in the middle against the class of the Spurs midfield..

The way they kept the ball in the final 5mins was embarrassing.. but our midfield options are three wingers ( Young not available today ) and a pedestrain hard working lads in the middle.. we dotn have a Modric or VdV type to influence the game..

Gabby was clean thru but had a feeling he wouldnt score.. he really needs a predator playing alongside him..

Need to up our game in the second half and look for the three points!!

Frenchie its not that.. our next two games are Man City and Chelsea away Sad .. we cant score goals and have no creativity in the middle.. no goalscorers.. and our best asset is getting it out wide and getting the crosses in.. something Houllier is tryig to change.. right now we are fcuked and if Houllier wants to turn it around he best have TWO Midfielders and a ST lined up in the first 10days of Jan!!

As for the game.. knew VdV would bum us.. 8M is a complete and utter bargain for a palyer of that class..!!

What a complete shower of shit.Comedy defending for their first, tremendous second on the break.defoe's sending off was an absolute farce, shouldn't have even been a yellow yet 65 mins against 10 men and they were still superior.Bright points being Albrighton and Lichaj. Why Pires instead of Bannan? Bottom three by the end of the Chelsea game, houllier out now

Fecking useless, pile of shite and the Frog fceked up big time again. WTF is he doing playing Delph and Hogg in the middle, not fair on the young lads. I thought Lichaj did very well, as did Delfuonso when he came on, but absolute drivel. More money lost Embarassed Embarassed

Hogg and Delph had disaster written all over it from the begining.. against there midfield..

We play two out and out wingers so we need to be in the market for two top quality midfielders.. one who is like Essien and the other like Lampard/Gerrard Sad

Fonz needs to pull the trigger more!
