Am getting lots of comments from work colleagues about how well he played last night. He must be making it hard for Capello to disregard him. Hope he plays as well as that for us this season!

He looked quite lively but I just have that nagging feeling that he'll just never be quite good enough.

Well, he's in control of his destiny, both at West Ham and for England. Zola & Clarke seem to have brought him to another level over the last year. Fingers crossed!

This is a massive season for him. He does well, I think he'll overtake Heskey and end up starting a fair few games for England.

dunno about tempting fate, but i'd suggest someone's been on the glue.If Cole is judged to be one of our best 5 strikers then we may as well give up now

Who would you say is the top 5?

Rooney,Owen,Crouch,Defoe for me are the best 4 with the fifth being a choice between Bent,Heskey,Agbonlahor,Johnson,Davies and Beattie.Out of those i'd probably opt for Bent.
