Man City..
Rested Silva..Nasri..Dzeko and Aguerro was injured..
Knew we would lose this one.. thought scoreline would be closer with all the above not involved..

Re: Man City..
The score flattered them really - we weren't that bad.
Balotelli scored a good goal, bicycle kick from about 6 yards, not sure how we could've stopped that one.
Then Johnson got a cheap goal through Warnock's massive feck up at the back, bad choice by Warnock to try an acrobatic clearance, instead of just heading it.
Kompany's goal was a good header, looked like Bent was supposed to mark him but didn't get close enough to challenge for the header. Looked like Given nearly saved that one. Another good goal tbh.
Milner goal was just pure class. Brilliant finish, fair play to the lad, he didn't celebrate after he scored. Superb finish.
We had our chances, if Gabby scored his one on one at the beginning of the game, might have been a bit closer. Can't fault Warnock for our consolation goal though, very good finish. Another assist from Gabby. Another positive was that Hutton played very, very well. Solid defensively, good going forward too. At one point, we were on the counter attack, he played the perfect cross to the back post for someone to tap in - no one there. Not one person in the box.
Unbeaten streak over. Have to get a result against WBA next week.

yep i think we all knew we were not gonna get anything out of this one .... but well played and i believe we are the first team to score at there ground this season ( Etihad or wotever ) Milner never celebrated fair play to him but it hurt to see Barry set up the pass and Milner to score Just imagine what a team we wud have if we still had Barry and Milner...Downing, Young too ...Lerner has pulled the plug on us .... im pee,ed off

Re: Man City..
Bent fecked up for first and third goals at corners IMO, then dont know what happened for 4th goal as he stopped playing, was in pub and didnt see why. Milner is my type of player, great goal, but even better was the initial pass from near left touchline on left wing to right wing, brilliant. Didnt rest on laurel and ended up scoring a class goal. Class guy IMO. WTF Warnock was doing for second goal I dont know

Agree with you VFL on Bent, he should have cleared both them balls. Always think we should have a better header of the ball in that position anyway because if the ball gets through at that hight you are always in trouble.

Yeah, Heskey....or even Carew when he used to play, never used to let a ball go near the front post.

Didn't watch it, haven't seen highlights or read any reports and don't really want to. Think I've lost interest out of the blue. Can't fathom it TBH, probably need to get to a game but no Sunday games coming up that I can make. Maybe try and get to a midweek game eh.

Having studied your recent posts, I'd say you're having problems with your sexual identity.

Carew is starting to be immense for us.

And wide, very very wide. Him, Diop, and Faye lining up together must be terrifying.

Specially when he's stood next to Sam Baldock!

Carew was good for Villa to start with ....got a bit lazy at the end, just needed a new club perhaps

He was nowhere near match fit at the start of the season but he's getting better every week, he scored for Norway last week too. It looks like he's getting a decent partnership going with little Sam.

Re: Man City..
If he plays anywhere near his best then he's easily (imo) the best striker in the Championship.Had his attitude been consistently top notch then he'd not be at West Ham, nor would he have been at Villa. He'd have been plying his trade for one of Europe's elite.

I fully believe that, on his current form. Big Sam seems to be bringing out the best in a number of players, Faubert being another example. The 10 second highlights on the Football League Show didn't show how well we were playing on Saturday.

As you know i'm one of the minority on here who has always rated Allardyce. He'll prove to be West Ham's best managerial appointment since John Lyall.

Down by easter, instead of Christmas? Sam is exactly what West Ham needed. He's been what's needed since Curbishley left.

John Lyall was Ron Greenwood's assistant until Ron picked up the poisoned chalice known as the England managers job.
John basically took over everything Ron had built.
