Back to the drawing board.
A really good match at The Vetch this afternoon - not particularly good result if you're a Gooner but a good game nonetheless. Two teams playing good football - didn't see any cheating or players waving yellow cards at the ref - just a good game refereed by a pretty ordinary ref (but hey, you can't ask the impossible, eh? Good refs - where are they?).
I suspect we deserved a point - we certainly didn't deserve two - and we got nowt.
Can't wait for the return of full-backs at Arsenal - how we've missed Sagna, Jenkinson, Gibbs and Santos. That's not to say that the blokes who've stepped in over recent times haven't put a shift in - e.g. I thought Djourou had a very good game today - but full-back is a specialist position, you don't realise it until you haven't got one in the squad!
ManU next, maybe Vermaelen will be back (but he's not a full-back either) - we need to get a grip now and start turning the screw a bit - I believe we're a better team than recent results have shown - come on Arsenal!

OK, it was played at The Liberty Stadium - I was in a time warp - oh yes, totally crap pitch, ball bobbling about, people (both teams) loosing their footing - they play rugby there don't they?

Excellent game to watch, Swansea are a great addition to the premiership, wish Villa could play like that. The German centre back was awful.

Re: Back to the drawing board.
Jpr any thoughts to who might finish top four besides the two cast iron guarantees that are Man U and Arsenal
Re: Back to the drawing board.
Why weren't Arsenal in for Gary Cahill?? I think that signing will be the difference between 4th and 5th this season.

Just heard George Graham on the radio saying they should go in for Samba. They look awful defensively. Still top 2 material though

Re: Back to the drawing board.
Titter you may
Have to admit the last three matches (Fulham, Leeds, Swansea) have been a big challenge to my sense of reasoning yet I cannot believe that this Arsenal team are as weak as they've looked recently. We clearly missed Arteta against Swansea (aside from a proper full-back) and even our keeper got stuff badly wrong for the third goal but, I dunno - I just
think we'll turn it around (again). Look, if we don't do ManU this coming weekend I might have to have a re-think - right now it's The Arsenal, ManU and two others Top Four (in any order) - honest, trust me.

Seems like Mr Wenger has had a bit of that laser eye surgery lately... he seems to be seeing a lot more on the pitch these days...

Re: Back to the drawing board.
We've got, at least, 10 players missing from our first team squad, including ALL of our full backs.
That amount of players out, many long term, is gonna effect any teams performance.
We've had a terrible run of injuries.
Last time we played Man U, we also had ten out. Our hard luck, their good fortune but that's football.

It's not been a "Lucky Arsenal" season has it (in fact I don't remember when we last got lucky)? Even players out on loan get injured - see Frimpong trying to break Petrov's foot with his diving header? - he's gonna be out for 3 months now!
Still, that's football. Who's to say we can't turn ManU over later today and set ourselves up for another run of form which will (hopefully) see a return to action of Wilshere, Sagna and Gibbs? Come on Arsenal!

Think you can say both Tottingham and Arsenal got better results than their earlier ones against the Manchester teams yesterday, eh?
