Arsenal v Tottenham Hotspur
For the first time in a long time this up-coming match carries some importance for us Gooners.
The background is unusual - i.e. Tottenham are above us in the table - and the fact that we've been misfiring on a massive scale this season has resultd in all sorts of doom'n-gloom stories being told about us, our club, our manager, our players compared to The Neighbours who have suddenly become a good team. It doesn't really matter what you believe, word is out that 'Arry is a top manager, has created a top team (challenging for the title even) and that Tottenham have (finally) overtaken The Arsenal in the pecking order.
Cynics will say that 'Arry's team is already elderly but, even with a loanee up front, we'd have to admit they've been putting on the style (most of the time). So, can they "cut the mustard" and show The Arsenal how good they are this weekend? The match itself is probably more important to Arsenal than Tottenham (assuming you don't buy the title-challenging riff) so you'd have to expect the Arsenal players to turn up with a top performance. The questions then are:
1) Is an Arsenal "top-performance" better than the equivalent from Tottenham?
2) Will we see an Inter-Milan Tottenham (you know, when Gareth Bale showed what he could do) or a Stevenage Tottenham?
In a way I welcome a real higher-than-usual interest level in this fixture, it takes me back to the early '60's when Tottenham were everybodies darlings - there was a real needle to those matches back then.

If your team was playing under different colours I think we would run you into the ground.... But as its a derby I think it will be a closely fought contest... I would expect both sets of player to be up for the game

Unfortunately, for the third time in our last 4 matches against the Spuds we are blighted by injury.
That's football though. I just hope that the team we field gives their all, we can ask no more than that.

Spurs have to be at their shortest ever odds for an away game at Arsenal. I've always had a dislike for spurs but as a neutrel i have to say that i've really enjoyed watching them play this season in the same way i've enjoyed watching arsenal during the wenger era.

There are excuses and there are facts. It's a fact that we have a very long list of long term injuries. Three centre backs and three full backs, to name but a few.
Tottenham have been very fortunate with injuries. Take Bale and King, alone, out of their side for any period and you'd see quite a change.

Really looking forward to this one. Spurs are the best team in the Prem to watch by a mile and have been for a few seasons. I like Arry, and I like what he's done at Spurs (he's done exactly what MON couldn't do) and I hope they can put together a challenge for the title. Would be very happy to see them crush Arsenal and confirm their status as the top London team.

Martin Oneil didnt like to throw darts.. hence why he thought the likes of Sidwell and future signings like Doyle will crack the top four

They are playing very well this season but "for a few seasons" ? Sorry, I just can't have that.

They were feckin quality to watch last season too. Really enjoy watching the spuds, I'd rather watch them than any of the old sky 4.
