Seems like it, but my thoughts are with Petrov at minute. As with Muamba, puts the game into perspective

Yes indeed. Us Gooners were remembering David "Rocky" Rocastle today, it's eleven years since he died and we still miss him like it was yesterday. Lets hope "Stan" and Fabrice recover to have long and enjoyable lives.

Re: Big Match
Amen to that!!!!!
Yes, The Arsenal plotted their own doom. After a brilliant run the usual suspects returned to the norm and were just not up for the battle. Why are we 'protecting' Oxlade-Chamberlain? He's good enough, young and keen. Put him on the feckin pitch!!!!!! When Giggs was young he was out there and he's STILL there, what is this 'protection' bollocks?

Re: Big Match
I really, really want The Arsenal to beat ManC. We were a touch unlucky to lose at their place earlier, we need to redress that situation and kick on.
There's two things going on here for me:
1) I'd hate ManC to prove that being stupid rich and buying mega-stars means winning stuff. I'm no ManU fan but I'd be much happier with ManU as champions than their neighbours.
2) I'm "A Believer" - in Arsene Wenger and his way of football management and in "The Arsenal Way" (tradition).
So it's not just Arsenal finishing as high as possible and winning whenever possible, it's about showing continuity and, who knows, perhaps "The Arsenal Way" will end up conquering all eventually. I'd be more than happy if every football club followed the Arsenal model - it would make a level playing field (as it used to be, more or less) and give everyone a chance at glory.

Most clubs do follow a no trophies for 7 years policy.

We should have scored more but "One-nil to The Arsenal" suits me fine. The team played well against a bunch of talented individuals, Arsenal were by far the better team and I'm hoping we've seen the last of Balotelli in English football.
My thoughts about him have been well-documented on here - "good ridance" is my gut feeling.
Oh yes and what a strike by Arteta - he's fast becoming a hero at The Grove.

Re: Big Match
ABSOLUTELY !!!!!!
As for Arteta, he's been a good signng for us and seems to have found an extra couple of yards of pace from somewhere.

Re: Big Match
Indeed - we've gone from desperation at the beginning of the season to comfortable, then massive collapse ("Wenger out" etc., although I do think we were undone by having to try to play top-class football on Hackney-Marshes quality pitches in Milan and Sunderland) followed by recovery and now we're the form team!
If current form reflects our true potential - and we've still got Jack Wilshere to come back plus whoever else Le Boss has earmarked - I'm pretty positive about our chances for some sustainable success in the future. Come on Arsenal, keep it going to the end of the season so us Gooners can enjoy the summer!

Re: Big Match
Arsenal have turned their season round brilliantly. However it may have also convinced Wenger that he still doesn't need to splash the cash. United and City will spend despite finishing ahead of them and. I'd be surprised if Chelsea aren't big spenders in the summer

We have the nucleus of a good side. Let's hope we add to that.

Re: Big Match
And here's hoping we keep our focus tonight to destroy Wigan. Nothing against Wigan you understand but losing to QPR a couple of games back was the only wake-up call I want to hear about (again) this season.
Come on Arsenal, do the business and let's increase "The Gap" to eight points!

Re: Big Match
Mind you fair play to Wigan.
Liverpool away
Chelsea away
Man Utd home
Arsenal away
To take 9 points from those games and when you consider that in the defeat to Chelsea both Chelsea goals were offside is title winning form

Re: Big Match
As agreed at the end of play, the best team won. OK, we gave them the goals (atrocious defence play - everyone to blame IMO) and could, on another day have scored a few ourselves but what can you say? Well played Wigan.
You have to admire our attitiude though, leaving the door open for everyone to walk in and get a chance, eh?
