Re: Are you watching Gareth Barry...
I was thinking that, 10 years at Villa and he fucks off to Money Bags City and then Villa reach a final and a good chance of atleast reaching Wembley twice while he does f all at his new super club. some poetic justice there

Re: Are you watching Gareth Barry...
Was listening to the commentary on 5 live in extra time and Barry apparently clapped the fans as he was being subbed - the summariser said there were not many City fans clapping him in return. He was being played wide left when I saw him the other week, how times change

I'd take him back in a heartbeat, still a class act.

QB, dont you think the team is better balanced now though with Petrov and milner in the middle and that is not having a dig at Barry. Neither Petrov or Barry really had the energy to go up and down the pitch all match

We built the team around Barry, but at Man City it's a different story.
He's not playing as well as he did over here.

I actualy agree with you for once .. Barry is still a class act but i think things worked out bette for us.. Milner in the middle and the man mountain Dunne at the back
Re: Are you watching Gareth Barry...
Barry and Petrov are a slow combination but Barry alongside Milner would be a lot better.I ddon't think he deserves he shit he's received from Villa fans.H served the club well and left us with a £11 million profit.Contrast that to the heroes reception that Angel and Collymore get, it doesn't make sense.

I think Barry did a lot for Villa over the years, played in some crap times under pathetic managers and still stayed on.
Thats my opinion.

I take your point QB, but wonder if Milner would have been moved to the middle had Barry stayed. Also, I wonder if he would have been prepared to play the more conservative role at Villa. I dont knock him or the way he performed for Villa over the years, but lets be honest, it was only really when MON took over that he was a wanted person. The club have done well for him as well.

yeh and the moment he reaches his peak and becomes a very good player he thinks he is to good for us and goes somewhere he thinks is better. Thats why he is a twat, should have wanted to stay and try to win things with villa if he cared so much but he didnt, **** him.

We're Villa fans, he was an employee. There isn't a single player in our squad who wouldn't have taken Man City's offer

We wouldn't be in the QF of the FA cup, Final of the League cup and challenging for 4th if GB had stayed.

Well mine says Barry's time was up. Good player, but not good enough for top level.

Villainies, you must be on the beer. The guy is a good player, as QB said somewhere, would be good in a holding type role with Milner,

Dont be a gaylord lutes! Good player yes, great player no. We've moved on so has he. We're doing better without him and if he isn't moved on at the end of the season then he'll play less and less for man city.

Where did I say great player, but he has certainly been one of Villa's top players over the last ten years.

Re: Are you watching Gareth Barry...
No question one of my favourite players. He plays football exactly how I like to watch it and when he is in top form could be a top four player IMO bit he over the course of a season he does't maintain the consistent quality needed and that has alwYs counted against him. For England sake I hope he can hit form now.

Re: Are you watching Gareth Barry...
I think he has generally been very consistent. Think he was played in a wrong position for us last season, due to the fact he and Petrov are similar in a lot of ways. Cant play the 2 of them in a 442 IMHO
