England
beat Spain the other night without our best player and barely a mention from the jwnders. Fairly sure there would've been copious moanings if they had stuck 3 past us. Good, confidence building win for the England Boys and plenty to build on for next summer.

Re: England
Another decent performance, very encouraging couple of games from Rodwell and Jones in particular, who just looks a phenomenal talent. One thing I think tonight proved - we need Wayne Rooney. Our attack is pretty toothless without him. Could've won by 4 or 5 with a decent finisher in the team.

Re: England
Only saw bits of it, Rodwell looked excellent in what I did see. Jones will be a centre back I would think. Hart will be keeper for many years to come, Rooney also, so that is four of the spine of the team that will be excellent for some time to come. Think for Euro's Scott Parker will be a main man, Jagielka, Jones and Lescott will be challenging the old duo, not forgetting Cahill. I like Kyle Walker, just think Micah Richards is a real top player. Cole was good on Saturday, best I have seen him play in long time. Milner and Young are good talented young players, not sure how Walcott did tonight, can he step up another notch? Sturridge looks talented and villainies love child Wellbeck is around as well. By any large, the future isnt that bad.

Re: England
Walcott just hasn't taken his game to the international level. His delivery is shocking. Milner or Johnson would be a much better choice.

Euro team
Hart
Richards Jag Lescott Cole
Parker Jones/Rodwell ( Protecting back four )
Walcott/Gabby/Milner Wikshire ( play maker ) Young
Bent/Welbeck till Rooney available upfront.
Terry Rio Gerrard Lamp LB in England..

Re: England
There is some emerging talent.
Jones looked outstanding in midfield, strong player and much more to come.
Let's see if Capello has the balls to leave some of the serial failures behind.

IMO Downing was our best player yesterday despite the fact he's a dirty treacherous bastard. As for Walcott, well we're still waiting for him to live up to the hype.If anyone is going to miss out on the finals i'd suggest he's the one in danger

Re: England
Yep downing could play on the wing maybe instead of one of the wide men mentioned..
The seedings are out.. we could get Poland Sweden Czech Republic OR Spain Portugal France

Re: England
As you know I'm not an England watcher as such but if I had to pick a wide-man out of Downing and Walcott it would be Walcott. No reason why both shouldn't get into the squad but for me Downing is an easily read player - if you were the defender you'd know what he was going to (try to) do. With Walcott you not only have the burst of speed but he has something of the Thierry Henry, he can cut inside - I've said it before and I'll say it again, I reckon Walcott is a specialist, we've not seen his best yet. By the way, I said that whilst watching him play for the England under-21's whilst he was still a Saints player - it's not just "Goonerism" being spouted here, folks!

Re: England
Downing has far superior delivery. I'd have Young and Milner, both have excelled for the top two clubs in the country this season. Walcott would be a good option off the bench to run at tired legs, but how many times does he get in excellent positions only to completely misplace the cross or pull back?

Young certainly but I'd have Milner as a midfield "water-carrier" rather than a wide man. I just think Walcott has that "something" - thinking as a defender I'd be happier to take on Downing (or Milner for that matter) than Young or Walcott. Those two have an unpredictability which is difficult to accomodate, from a defensive position.

Re: England
I agree Milner is better in the central role, not a hod carrier mind
