9 Days to go..
What's everyone's thinking about how the transfer window has gone and what we can expect in the next few days..
PL doesn't look like the Oneil type to sign players last minute.. maybe we are operating a one in one out system.. certainly seems like his hands are slightly tied ( hope im wrong! )
We desperately need a LB ST CM and Winger..
Can't see 4 players of good calibre coming in thou..
Guess in 9 days time we will know hey..

Re: 9 Days to go..
Tony Pullis was saying the other day how he likes to buy at the end of the window as the prices drop. I think we will get 3 players in and that will be enough. I don't believe we won't sign anyone if we can't get rid of Hutton and Warnock.

Re: 9 Days to go..
Yeah, hopefully by the end of the window, we'll have at least 2 more players in. Rumours were going wild today on twitter, some unknown player came into BMH and was escorted into the complex away from the fans.
All our transfers were done very privately, hopefully we're tying up deals now as well.

Acording to the gospel that is the Daily Mail.. Dunne will be off to Stoke and Warnock is training with the kids..
Re: 9 Days to go..
I think selling Dunne will prove to be a mistake

Well..he is 33 now. Plus I think he's in his last year of his contract. Best to sell him and get some money back rather then let him leave for free next summer. Think he's past his best now anyway.

Re: 9 Days to go..
If Lambert can manage to get rid of Hutton, Collins, Dunne and Warnock, and get people to pay us for them, then he is a fucking genius. Would be happy to see them all leave.
According to rumour of Dunne do go, we would be looking at Baker, Herd and Lowton as centre back cover which I think could be a mistake, but surely anyone would be better than them stnuc last season

Re: 9 Days to go..
Dunne returning from injury last season was a major reason in us stopping up. I think a season alongside Dunne would help Vlaar adapt to the Prem. I like Clark, think he will in time be a good centre half. At the moment i believe he's better playing the anchor role in midfield. If Dunne is to be sold then i hope he is replacec by someone with 200+ prem games under his belt. I'd like to see a forward brought in along with a left back. Unless we're talking a £10m midfielder i'm not too fussed. We aren't as bad off as some make out. The kids have to be given their chance and we have some decent experience in there as well

Re: 9 Days to go..
To be honest, I wouldn't have thought a couple of weeks ago that PL would get rid of all 4 of the 'main' back 4. But it seems as Hutton and Warnock have been told they have no future at the club, Collins has been sold to WH and rumours of Dunne interesting Stoke.
I would have hoped we kept one out of Collins and Dunne, but if he's deciding to get rid of both, then he must have a target lined up.
I think we definitely need a LB, a DM and a winger. We might need a striker, but we've got Bent, Gabby, Weimann and the Fonz. Maybe one of the 2 should go on loan.

I would have kept Dunne, but him and Collins certainly seemed to causes few off field issue. If Lambert feels we are better off with our him then that's good enough for me.
He's a reasonable defender, but the Euros showed him slowing up and dropping deep. 50k a week off the wages seems a decent move if we can get it. Anyway, he is still injured so most likely he will stay.
Looking forward to the Everton game on Saturday, unfortunately I think Felini will make mince meat of Clark.

Fellaini is definitely the man to look out for. Played a stormer against Utd.
Got a feeling PL will put Vlaar on Fellaini, and Clark on Jelavic. Or, he might even start with Herd in the anchor man role and ask him to man mark Fellaini.
If we're not careful, we could get battered by Everton, they're going to be buoyed by that victory on Monday.

Re: 9 Days to go..
Cole was beating him to the ball 9 times out of 10. Eventually Vlaar just started pulling him down by his shirt. Don't get me wrong, he's not a bad player, when Cole's on form he'll give most defenders a game but if Fellaini plays like he did against United, Vlaar will be in trouble.

I agree with this. Fellaini will chew him up.

First game in the Premier League for Vlaar so hopefully he will get stronger, also will tend to find that at home will get more free kicks to the home side in the physical battles.
To be honest, I would have thought there is a very good chance we will play Herd to keep an eye on Fellaini, he ain't the biggest but he has a hell of a jump on him.

Re: 9 Days to go..
Strange how opinions vary. Couple of mates who were at the game said Vlaar had a good game. Fellani will cause anyone problems when in the mood, have to try and stop the service to him. As for Dunne, I would keep him, but if there are off the field problems with him, agree with PL to get rid, if possible. Personally, I would like Dawson at the club, great talker, good defender and would help the young kids. A lot of money for him though

Investing near on £20 million in Dawson would be far to much money. He is a good player and would definitely improve us, but I can't see Villa doing them kind of deals anymore.

I agree ROT, the transfer market is plain stupid at the minute.

It certainly is, definitely need to scour the European market for players, hopefully Lambert can pull a few signings out the bag before the close of the window, we certainly need some.

Apparently Nigel Reo Coker is still a free agent.

I just happened to read that this morning. He was released by Bolton at the end of last season, lol.

Re: 9 Days to go..
8 days to go..
Not much links to players coming in..
Think Warnock and Hutton will go on the last day.. probably on loan..
A LB should be in by then and probably another player on loan or for a fee off around 2-4M from Europe will come in.. could be a CM Winger or ST depending on who the scouts have there eye on..
