BENTEKE

Looks like our newly appointed scout is putting in a couple of shifts.

Villainies, did you see Benteke's performance today, he was absolutely superb and we will be lucky to keep him beyond the end of this season. His touch for a big guy is amazing and the strength he showed in brushing off Smalling was superb. The guy is going to be a top top player, maybe not at Villa, but he will be if continues to improve

I'm merely pointing out the utter ridiculousness of suggesting Benteke is top 4 material on the basis of what we've seen so far. That's some of the biggest tosh I've ever read on jwned and that really is saying something.

I have to say, he did look excellent against united.

Jak, with the right attitude, think this lad will be a top top player, his hold up play is fantastic and brings others into play.

Against the Albion he was shit. However, since then he's got better with each game and against United he was absolutely immense. Think we have to give credit to Paul Lambert as well for going into a game against United with Gabby,Benteke and Weimann in the starting line up as well as Bannan and Ireland. Perfom like that for the rest of the season and we'll be comfortably safe.

Benteke has already doubled his value AT LEAST.

Was immense from the highlights I saw, knocked the header down for Holman to hit the half volley outside the box - great goal.

Made a surging run through the defence, had a shot blocked from the keeper but kept his nerve, got the ball looked up and set Weimann up for his second.

His goal was probably the best one so far. Excellent move by Villa, brilliant passing and then he strikes it from outside the area bang, in it goes.

He has more than doubled his value, for certain and Ades may well be right that we will get some big money for the lad when he moves on

Missed a one on one chance in first couple of minutes, but from the radio commentary, they said he looked sharp and was running the channels well

I thought he was 100% guaranteed to score any chance that came his way and thats why Lambert has been getting such stick for not playing him

I think it was more to do with us being the lowest scoring team in the division and the fact a bloke who has a good scoring record and the club's record signing couldn't even make the matchday squad.

I dont think Lambert has been given much stick at all to be fair, except people wondering how a young lad with something like 10 goals for Chesterfield in 80 games can keep Bent off the bench
