Blues In Europe - Club Brugge (Home)
Thursday 3rd November 2011. Fortress St. Andrews.
After the euphoria of our impressive victory in Belgium, Blues return home for the next stage of our quest for European domination.
Club Brugge have the honour of stepping out onto the hallowed turf of Fortress St. Andrews and you have to wonder if the occasion will prove too much for them.
For many of their travelling fans this will be a night that they could never have dreamt would happen. By kickoff time they will already have gazed in awe upon the Bull Ring and posed for photos outside Digbeth Coach Station. Now inside the stadium, they'll be able to see where legends such as Noel Blake and Robert Hopkins fought bravely for the cause.
They will experience first hand the famous atmosphere of a European night at the Blues.
Electrifying. Intimidating. Unforgettable.
Brugge have been in turmoil since we broke their hearts at the Jan Breydelstadion and hopefully we can take advantage of this to stay top of Group H.

Blues 2 - 2 Brugge
Overall, an enjoyable night and we really could have won this.
Our tactics, as usual, were to only play seriously for the second half. I think this is something to do with conserving energy and letting players have a bit of a rest due to the large number of games we have.
Fair play to those cheeky Belgians though. Realising that this could be the one and only chance they might get in their careers to play at St. Andrews, they were the better team in the first half. They took advantage of our centre backs having a snooze at a corner and finished well for their first. Their second came about from us giving them the ball and encouraging them to run up field with it. Despite all our help, they nearly fecked it up as the bloke who put it into the net was at least a yard offside. Luckily the lino was checking his texts at the time and didn't notice.
Second half we decided we'd better start playing and knocked in a couple of goals in prepartion for our injury time winner. Unfortunately, we misjudged how long was left and the ref blew for full time before we'd scored. A schoolboy error.
Brugge fans seemed to enjoy themselves and they can now say "I was there when we drew with Blues at St. Andrews". Their grandchildren will think they're making it up.

The Brugge fans were great last night. There were about 3000 of them and you could tell that they were honoured to be there.
They sang most of their songs in English too, for our benefit.
The highlights had to be hearing their renditions of 'Shit on the Viler'.
Much love Brugge.
